CO Newbie

Hey everyone. Just got my '03 MCS about a month ago. Already been on a British car run, and already got my first speeding ticket and I don't even have real plates on it yet! It's soooo much fun to drive. Looking forward to seeing how it handles Colorado winter snowboard trips - looking into winter tire setup as we speak.

Welcome to MINIdom and NAM.

For wintertime, some folks buy a set of the 15" MC wheels and put dedicated snow tires on them. The narrower tires tend to do a bit better in the snow. Check Ralph Schomp MINI to see if they have any "take offs" available or check E-Bay.

Thanks for the info

Yeah, I'm definitely considering the 15"ers unless I find a good deal on some used winters that will fit my 17"s. Seems like it works out to about the same $$ either way.

Makes sure the wheels will fit. Do you have a JCW?

No JCW, (like I really need it) just an MCS with the original wheels.

I asked because 15" wheel won't fit a JCW because of the larger brakes, and the 16" are iffy.

Gusto - Welcome and congrats on your MINI! Check out www.Mini5280.com which is the local MINI club. We just had our Yalla Yalla on Sunday which was a great day of twisties and mountain colors.

Again congrats with the purchase!

Howdy, and welcome to NAM from a former Coloradan! I keep thinking how nice Boulder Canyon and the trip through rocky mountain park would be in a Mini...
