Mini of North Scottsdale

I am going to buy a new Mini S. Has anyone dealt with Mini of North Scottsdale? How is their Sales Department?

Why not just pop in and find out for yourself then compare to others experiences? Nothing like first hand experience to get things going in the right direction.

When ordering the Mini for my wife we were a bit put off by the attitude, "we know your going to buy and we don't have to be nice". Some other draw backs to MNS is long wait times and large down payment ($2,000). However, it is a great place to look around and see what options are available. If after visiting you would like an alternative way for ordering a Mini PM me and I will share with you how we got Bunni Foo Foo.

I ordered my MINI from there and had a decent experience. The sales manager is very good and they have nice sales people, not always proactive though. A couple things to keep in mind is a total of two $1000 deposits if you order ($2k) and nearly a $400 doc fee (which I believe is outrageous). Cars are sold at MSRP (finance will try and get you to buy Lojack, tint, etc.). They do not discount anything or throw anything in aside from maybe key chains. They may do more if you take something they already have in stock. They will also want you to fill out a credit application, even if you finance outside the dealer or are paying cash.

Another option is ordering in NM and driving it home (lower taxes and fees). I did talk to MINI Sandia and they seemed to be a decent dealer. You could do worse than MINI North Scottsdale... IMHO.

I had a good experence with MA Greg Witt, who was very nice, with none of the aforementioned 'attitude'. That said, I did wind up buying out of state and enjoying the ride home. My dealer had $1000 total deposit, no doc fee, no extra charges of any kind, no pressure to finance, buy warranty, etc, and I enjoyed a very nice drive home! I didn't go out of state for those things however, I did it because I spend a fair amount of time in Colorado and the wait was at least 2 months less!

Don't forget if you do buy, no matter where, to join the local club - Dynamic MINI Collective / Desert Rat Pack - great folks!

I had to have some minor service things done after buying my used mini. Very helpfull and really took care of me ie: rental car and so on. First experience with a BMW/Mini dealer so I was impressed, though I was shocked at the price of the service and labor.

The intention of my post is not to sway people from using MNS I just found a different route more suited to my needs. I did have a positive experience at the parts counter, treated like a real BMW owner
