I wasn't sure where exactly to post this b/c I'm not sure if it happens in tin tops, or just cabrios...

When I open either door, there's some electrical/mechanical type noise coming from the passenger floor area-ish. Originally I thought it was maybe the CD player (like if it were moving the laser to read a disc..) but I think it's lower and more on the passenger side... It also happens when I close the door, or turn the dome light on/off (when the car is off)?

Has anyone ever heard this noise & can tell me what the heck it is?

Our 06 MCS is not a cabrio, but I've been noticing this noise as well. It's only just started in the last week or so--the car has about 8k miles on it. I have no idea what it is but would also appreciate any input to help identify it. It happens when opening the door (I'm thinking only when opening it from the outside, as opposed to the inside after running the car).

 

Down in the passenger footwell is the "BC1" module which controls all car electrics - including the windows.
When you open/close a door, the window is "dipped" down/up so you might be hearing relay noise from the BC1 - although that's pretty quiet ...
Not sure what else it could be
