Production Week 38 (Sept 18, 2006) Support Group
Vessel: MANON
Voyage: EA638-MAN
That's the ship and voyage thing. I am booked to be picked up on the 26th, which is very soon as it is noon NY time now, so that means around 6pm their time. Do they only get loaded at certain times or is around the clock?
Due in NYC at 10/4. My car stayed at the terminal for a solid week. That sucks. I am pissed. What a bs process of getting delayed and lied to. They KNEW my car was comming that week in august because of alotment, I could have gone to another dealer and it would have been faster. That is such bs. I figured it all out now.

From that point on, *no one* knew where the car was. Not my MA, not the regional representative, and not any of the people at ASK-MINI. We didn't know if they would have to re-build all 147 orders, if they would figure out a way to replace all of the VIN tags on the car, or if they would apply for a waiver to allow the cars to be sold as 2006 models, even though they had 2007 VIN numbers. I'm still not entirely certain what they did.
Today, I got an e-mail from my MA saying that my car was back at the Southampton docks, sporting a new-but-almost-identical VIN (don't ask me how), and ready to go on the next boat, which should be the MANON.
As anxious as I am to get my car while it's still convertible weather, I'm glad that the delay wasn't any longer than it's been. The delay has added 17 days to the process, and I should still be getting it by the 2nd week of October, which is only about a week later than my MA's originial estimate.

As of saturday, my mini is at the port awaiting a shipping vessel
Don't find any info on the WW site, but since I'm on the west coast, who knows what shipping line I'll be on.
Has anyone from the west coast gotten on a ship yet?

Just remember - the wait can always be worse. I ordered my MCSC on August 9th, and it was supposed to be a Week 36 car. It actually made it to the Southampton docks on Sept. 8th, then they discovered that it was one of the 147 convertibles that had mistakenly been given 2007 VIN numbers and had to be recalled. I found out about that on about the 14th or so, after wondering why my car had been at the docks for a week but hadn't gotten on a boat yet.

Seriously, I don't feel like I've been inconvenienced in any big way, and I don't feel anyone owes me anything. When all is said and done, I'm probably going to get the car within a week of when my MA originally predicted, and if it weren't so darn easy to track our cars, I wouldn't have even known there was a problem in the first place!
(Not that I'd turn down any free swag.....)

Well I am bummed a little that my VIN didn't show up on the Maersk Wind with namvet66. I was really sure that my Midwest bound Mini would be on that boat, and I am very hopeful that is it, and I am one of those that's VIN doesn't show up for a few days. Who knows? Maybe it hopped onto a different line.
Congrats to all of you who know your Mini's are safely sailing!!!

If i find anything out i will post!
WELL
for us west coasters it looks like a WW.(ship line ebbreviation) ship sailed today (25th) and the next departure would be the 2nd of October. Now we may be on the twenty fifth ship and info has not been updated, this would run concurrent with the timelines on updates as far as a day to four or five in lag time at this stage (getting on a ship or not...) atleast that seems to be the norm from what i read in some cases....
Either way if not today then the second looks to be our boat!

yeah i was hoping to get on today's boat... would be nice to get on the next WW boat tho...
i've heard from lots of west coasters that most of the cars that come here come on a different shipping line... we'll see though!

If you go to WW site and type in GBSOU468412 for the 'booking number' it will give you a list of VIN's. There are 341 VIN's on the boat...Remember that is only for the MERSK WIND ship. Each ship will have it's own booking number.
According to the AskMini voice, Grover is complete and waiting to be released for transport! Yay!!
Now the mysterious transport wait begins.
Strange, though, they said he was in the paint shop yesterday and now he's complete? That seems rather fast.
How is everyone else holding up?

Mine *might* be on the MANON - I'm waiting to hear from my MA. Since mine is one of the "lost convertibles", it's not in anyone's database right now. But, I did get word earlier this week that it was back at the docks, and the MANON pulled out a day or two later.
I'll let you know if it looks like we're sharing the trip.

We also ordered Gus on the 2nd!
Awesome! I'm told that Patrick is supposed to have a MINI Training session sometime in October. I'll keep you posted if I hear anything!
Hopefully we get our MINI's with 10 - 12 days from the 4th!
