Transfered warranty and service?

Well we just picked up an 03 with 34K on it, I was told the warranty is transferable, do we have to call or mail MINI?

Second, we have only one BMW dealer up here. If the car needs service under warranty we take it to the BMW dealer right?

Thanks!

ummm, so all the minis in alaska (about 150) have to be shipped to seattle (nearest dealer) for service????

I know for a fact, that the BMW dealer by my house in San Francisco services them.

Thanks for the information!

866-ask-mini to transfer the warranty

It takes 5 minutes, all you need is the last 7 digits of the car's VIN and your name/address.

Most BMW dealerships will not service MINIs unless they also sell them. My nearest dealer/service is 3 hours away...minor downside of owning a MINI.

I've talked to the BMW dealer in Anchorage.
The service manager says that they "do what they can" but any WARANTY stuff they won't or can't do. This was last year when I called and after a lot of thought I still ordered my MINI. Figured since it was the 4th year most or all the problems would have been worked out.
Did have a wire problem 3 days after picking it up, at Ralph Schomp in Denver, the Dealership in Portland took care of that problem.
THis past summer I drove down to Portland and had the MINI one service,25k on the car.
Best bet is to hope that nothing breaks. If it is waranty MINI will pay to ship it to the nearest dealer, Vancouver BC is what I was told. But you pay to get it back.
Maybe I'll see you the next time I hit Anchorage.
Cheers
Shawn
