New to NAM from Germany
Hello everyone!
My name is Mark, I live in Munich, and here comes my brandnew Cooper S

The arm rest still got to be installed, so Mini Munich gave me a black 210 bhp Cooper S JCW for the next two days

Thank you Mini!
And here comes my dealer's private car! A liquid intercooled 270 bhp Cooper S JCW, unfortunately taken at night. I hade a ride with this little Giftzwerg and it's pure adrenaline, but I prefer my air-conditioned and air-bagged Mini!

So, see you on the Autobahn!

Welcome to NAM Mark. Looks great and I bet hitting the autobon in a MIN is nice, we don't have the luxury of the speed on the autobon over here to see what our MINIs are really capable of. Enjoy, motor on!
... a little Cooper Works Video... (probably needs Real Player Update). play loud!

Mark, welcome. I picked up my MCS in Heidelberg in June '02. Broke it in on the autobahn and it's still going strong. Now it's a Texas MINI. Mike

Welcome, Mark!
Great looking car! I truly wish I could see you on the autobahn!
My brother lived in Ottobrunn for several years before moving to Italy, and we were fortunate enough to visit him. I really liked Munich (and Germany) and hope to visit again in a few years. Is your dealer's private car orange, or is that just how it looks because of the night photo?
Saro, welcome to you also! You are close to where my brother now lives. He lives and works in Piacenza and his wife works in Milano. We were there last Februaury for a couple of weeks. Wish we could have met some MINI owners on that trip.
It's good to see European owners on here!

Well, to be honest, a Mini isn't really that much fun on the Autobahn... too short wheelbase, too hard suspension (especially Cooper S and JCW). Passing 80 mph makes you feel like sitting inside a jackhammer, and you should always have both hands on the steering wheel! If not, you change lanes unintentionally in a second.
I heared there is a freeway in Montana without speed limit...

Welcome to NAM. There certainly are some nice roads to the south of Munich. I was there in April and saw a lot of Minis. We drove to Innsbruck and I wished I was in my Mini. I'm sure you will have a good time driving your Mini.

i used to play "need for speed" but since i have my mcs i dont play games any more
Mark, have you given any thought to changing out the shocks -- maybe some Kofi FSDs or something? I've heard others talk of the lack of comfort on longer autobahn runs, but have yet to find someone who's talked of strategy for mitigating it.

Well, occasionally the freeways in SoCal feel like the autobahn. That is, when they don't feel like a parking lot.
Cheers to all Euro MINI owners! I've been to most Western European countries and can never get back soon enough. It always feels good to share MINI love with people from other parts of the world.
Auf wiedersehen and ciao!
