Discovered something kind of cool--if you are booked on a ship by checking your VIN and you get the screen that gives you the info, if you select the "Booking Number" that is listed there and do a search on that, it will show you the VINs of the other cars booked so far, or at least some of them. So, for the Liberty on 7/22 these VINs come up:

WMWRF33506TG15721*
RECEIVED AT TERMINAL SOUTHAMPTON 17/07/2006 22:29
WMWRE33586TJ38438*
RECEIVED AT TERMINAL SOUTHAMPTON 18/07/2006 00:42
WMWRC335X6TK70137*
RECEIVED AT TERMINAL SOUTHAMPTON 18/07/2006 00:43
WMWRC33596TK15159*
RECEIVED AT TERMINAL SOUTHAMPTON 17/07/2006 22:00
WMWRC33576TK15113*
RECEIVED AT TERMINAL SOUTHAMPTON 14/07/2006 20:47
WMWRC33546TK15165*

I was quite surprised when I saw that mine had been switched to Liberty and also sitting around for a few extra days when it originally was supposed to go out on Manon. Bummer...but if you are on Manon--good for you ;-)
If your VIN had an asterisk next to it, that indicates that it's booked for the ship, but not necessarily loaded. Which means that if there were enough cars in front of yours you'd get bumped. My guess is that's what happened to you. Since your mini got to the port the same day the Manon sailed, it's not really surprising. My mini got into port about 6 hours before the Courage sailed and didn't make it on. Frustrating, but the wait is at least half over, right?

That's good info--and yeah, its not surprsing I hadn't made it on. I was just excited when I had seen it was to be on the Manon and didn't look more closely at the details until I had seen the switch to the Liberty. Frustrating....oh yeah

Called Ask Mini this afternoon, I (my Mini) have now entered the paint shop and is still scheduled for completion 7/21 (I don't know how they will be able to do this?). Getting closer and I already have been having trouble sleeping.

I also called ASK-MINI today. The guy I talked to was not very helpful. He basically said that they have no idea when it's going to be scheduled for production. When I asked if it was because different dealers had different production weeks, he didn't know. When I told him that when I called last week they estimated the end of August for production, his reply was "I really have no idea".

The only positive is that I had decided to add the center arm rest and got the dealer to add it to my order. It showed up on the order details today, in the owner's lounge.

My VIN is still not showing up on the WW site...I'm sweating this! I hope it shows up soon on one the ships leaving this weekend. I don't want to have to wait until August for it to sail off (that would drive me crazzzzyyy).

Arthurbang- good idea on the arm rest...but bummer on no production!! ughhh..

GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH!!

Me too!!! (as in on the Liberty) I ran the booking # search and found around 480 other vins on the Lib. Like myself, most had *'s behind my # which means "wait listed" but I'm assuming that's not a problem because very few didn't have the *. Just hoping I'm still onboard when she sets sail! Avast ye mateys. ARRRRGH!!!

PS Where is everyone else? This is one quiet group!

I see the Liberty has left its last destination in Belgium and is on its way to Southampton! Congrats to everyone tentatively booked on the Liberty--we are all getting one step closer. I see I don't have an asterix anymore--so I hope that mean McSweeney has a guaranteed spot on the Liberty! Now, if I could just figure out if they'll unload 'em at NYC or CHarleston--since Im in VA I would imagine it could go either way.

I'm on there also, no * either. I saw it this morning but I told myself I wouldn't log on to NAM at work... at least for awhile . I also saw when Liberty left Belgium headed for SH. She should dock this evening around midnight, I think. Hard to tell with the time differences. Hopefully we'll all be headed too sea by the time we get lunch tomorrow.

Amanda at askmini told me that I was going to Charlseton so they should know where yours is going.

phcrim - when you look up your VIN on the WW site there are several pieces of information on the Cargo Status Page. One of those pieces of information is the "Port of Destination:". It will probably be either NEW YORK, NY or CHARLESTON, SC.

I saw that and wasn't sure if it was simply a 'placeholder' sort of default for all the cars, or truly reflected where it was going since they havent been loaded yet. I guess I dont trust it much since it initially showed an entirely different ship! I randomly checked a bunch of cars currently scheduled for the same ship and every one I looked at was bound for NYC and not one for Charleston which I kinda find hard to believe. I figure the actual status will be a bit more reliable once the cars are actually on the ship.

There appear to be at least two different groups, separated by destination port.

Booking Number:

GBSOU435501 = Charleston
GBSOU435495 = NYC

I think it reflects where the car will be offloaded. At least that has been true for many of us in the PW27SG.

I hope that discovery holds up, because it means mine *is* going to NY and therefore off the ship that much more quickly

Hey guys,

It's been a crazy end of the week, but now have a chance to check in. Great news that some of you are getting news on boats! Being on the West Coast I think my car dropped into a black hole and will emerge in about 3 weeks! My MA has no info on shipping yet.

I'm still trying to decide on some options. First of which is whether or not to get a clear bra installed at the dealer. Any one else considering this?

Also, my production number is 25688... Anyone's Mini near that?

That's it for me tonight... a little tired as we hit a warm 118 degrees here in Phoenix today. Better that my mini isn't here to bake in the heat just yet!
