Almost wish I'd gone with that instead of the black stripes... except now I have some nefarious 'plans' for that center portion of the bonnet...
I'm here too!! I lurk for the most part unless I have something useful/interesting to add.
You West Coasters are doing fab still keeping your cool. I give you all kudos to that.
Pi Rho now has about 1450 miles on him! I think it is a psychological thing, but I feel like he sounds more "whiny" (in a good way!) since being past break in. Anyone else think that?
Oh yeah, I stopped into the dealership yesterday to program the "convenience opening" thing... took all of 5 minutes! I drove two friends (separate occassions) along some twisty roads and one of them is seriously considering getting a MINI now! And he said "Man, now any car I'm in, I'll think of how it isn't anything like a MINI!". :D
Now, the facts on moi:
Occupation – I work at the MSPCA Angell Memorial Animal Hospital in Boston. I help care for sick/injured animals. Mainly dogs and cats, but also some other small animals. I have a B.A. in Animal Science and hopefully after a year or two of good experience under my belt, I will be applying to veterinary school.
Family – Not married yet... but in a relationship of ~3 years.
Pets - The silliest fluff of a cat named Kaatje (Dutch for "pure"). She was gotten as a 8 week old kitten from a shelter, but I think she has some Norweigian Forest Cat in her. She has the fluffiest, softest long haired coat ever. She loves to go on car rides as long as she isn't in a carrier. I think she has to be part dog...
Interests – Equestrian... I've been riding since I was 11/12 years old and still love it even though I don't ride often anymore. I have a riding instructors license and I teach on occasion. I also love camping, travelling, reading, writing, going to different restaurants... almost anything. I love to experience life.
Other Vehicles – I used to drive around a '97 Camry LE. It was a great car, very reliable. I didn't trade it in/sell it because my family still needs it for my younger brother to drive around, so its getting good use.
Why I Got a MINI - Basically all the cliche reasons everyone wants a MINI... But honestly, I've been interested in them since I knew they first came out in the US. I think it adaquately defines my life/personality. It is peppy and fun and when you look at going by, you have to put a little smile on your face... at least it does to me anyways. It is a unique car that is wonderfully designed and marketed with the right idea/image. I know if I got any other car, it just wouldn't be as fun and exciting to drive to me. Any other car out there wasn't even an option to get.

The AB's schedule didn't include San Diego. She was supposed to go to PH straight from the canal. Vas ist los?
Upon looking at a Google Earth shot of San Diego, there's a huge automobile area. I wonder if she's loading up cars? Empty ship doesn't do the owners any good.

8/11 is the departure date so all the cars would be off by then. But, I do know there are 370+ cars in our shipment/bill of lading. That's a lot of cars to drive off the ship and into the VDC. Then the VDC checks, inspects, etc. Then the cars (BMWs and MINIs) go on trucks off to the dealerships.AM I MISSING SOMETHING HERE?:impatient
Imadork
No, you're not misunderstanding Red Scooter, I was forgetting the Euro-format date for the ETD.
As I like to say, "no brain, no headaches"!
Its kinda cool to think that my car passed by me today.

They can unload 370 cars reasonably quickly. She'll probably dock not long after midnight of the 11th, in Port Hueneme, and the unloading process will begin very quickly. If you've got a dozen or so employees to drive the cars off with, they could unload 370 in about six or seven hours. The ship owners want that ship out of there and on her way as soon as possible.
Car cars are parked in a huge lot, with probably a shuttle of somekind to get the drivers back to the ship.
The cars sit in the parking area until the VDC is ready for them. My MA says about a week at least, maybe a little longer.

I like your analysis. Makes sense BUT...I do NOT like the part
about waiting a week for the VDC.
My MA has me scheduled for a 8/16 pick up. Once we found out the AB was delayed he said it might be iffy for that date...maybe a day later or so. Hmmm...interesting what different MAs say.

My MA said 7-10 days after the AB is docked should I get my ride.

GBMiniGirl you should get your baby soon! How long has it been at the VDC, were you having any goodies installed?
