Production Week 27 (July 3, 2006) Support Group
Not married but friends/family are definitely into -

.
That's OK though. They just don't know how much fun being a Co-Pilot will be!
And the ones that are really nice, MIGHT get to test drive it...in the 2nd or 3rd MONTH!

I have my Mini order in for about 3 weeks now. I keep checking at MiniUSA.com Owners Lounge, but it still isn't in for a date of production. I am confused and would appreciate it if someone could tell me the whole prodecure.

Neverfifty, I see you're in Manassas. What dealership did you order from?
Ditto on the co-pilot thought. And a big ditto on the test driving - my wife will be lucky to drive it during the break-in period!

Sweet choice of color, by the way
Count me in, too (I think)
My MA says my MCS should go into production on Monday the 3rd. As of Sunday, the automated system didn't have a production week yet for me--haven't gotten to call ASK MINI during actual business hours to get more info. I hope my MA is right!
This will be my first MINI and the first car I've ever picked out myself (let alone paid for myself!). I'm turning 30 in about a month and still driving the car I "inherited" from my sister when I graduated college. My Acura Integra has served me well, but it's time, and I'm _so_ excited about my MINI!
Here are the specs:
Hyper blue/white
White bonnet stripes
Manual
Premium package
Cold weather package
Limited slip differential
DSC
Anthracite interior
Front and rear fog lights
iPod adaptor
White sunroof graphic
One of my coworkers has a CR/W MCS, and I drool as I pass by...someday soon!
Btw, did any of you consider the clear bra? Why or why not? That's the last decision I still have to make.

I will definitely be getting a clear bra installed on my MINI, 90% of my driving is highway and my Matrix has really taken a beating, especially in winter. We have a clear bra on our other car (Scion tC coupe) and it does a great job of protecting the paint and doesn't look bad, you can only see it from certain angles. I will have to get my clear bra installed away from my dealer though, because my MA says they don't currently have an installer for that product.
Week 26-ers
Hi there! I have been floating around looking at other Week ## Support Groups, and also have a production date of 6/26 according to the ASK MINI automated line, although the reps said 6/30 was the actual completion date when it would be ready to ship. Anyway, I decided to start a new thread for Week 26-ers now, to avoid confusion. Just look for "Production Week 26 Support Group". Happy waiting!!!
Waaa-hooo!!!
Just called ASK MINI and my MINI is in PRODUCTION!!!!
The automated system said est. completion is July 6! I then asked for Customer Relations. They said it went into production yesterday and is scheduled for completion July 5. No other detail was available, ie, which stage of production.
Btw, the OL has NOTHING about being in production or even that it is scheduled.
I'll bet that PW27 is going to start rolling with production dates/completion estimates, etc.

Call ASK MINI!!!!
Thanks for the info Scooter. I called ASK-MINI about an hour ago or so and the database was down. Let's give 'em a call...
Alright, I finally got a date when production started - June 23rd. And I'm still slated to be complete July 3rd. Based on that, he thought I'd be in the paint shop right about now! Oh, and the automated system still says my completion date was June 26th
- guess I'll be talking to a live person from now on.

Heh. Figures.
So, Scooter, after reading your good news I immediately picked up the phone and called ASK-MINI. Went the automated route first and, when the voice took longer than usual, I found myself thinking "maybe something's changed!"
Then comes the reply..."please wait while I transfer your call, this call may be monitored..."
Customer relations told me that the system is down, and to call back in half an hour or so.

When I called it was the first time EVER I had to wait to speak with someone. I'm wondering if they're being inundated with calls by PW27ers throughout the country.
Don't worry guys...it's a GOOD sign. My guess...being an IT guy...is that they're updating all the info on their production statuses (sp?).
By noon, you guys will have info...I know it! Hang in there!

When I went on about how several other 27ers were already going into production, and wondered if I might be coming up soon, etc, I got a very unenthusiastic reply that pretty much amounted to "I don't know, leave me alone". Too bad, most of my interactions with the ASK MINI reps have been above and beyond my expectations...I almost asked if I'd dialed the state tax assessor's office by mistake...

Check out this article from MotoringFile: http://motoringfile.com/2005/05/13/m...ping_timeline/EDIT: Does anyone have a VIN yet? The presence of a VIN is a good sign that your car is either very close to production or in production. Either check with your MA or go to the Owner's Lounge and do the right-click-view-source trick. (If anyone is unaware of the right-click-view-source trick, go the section of the OL where you can see the status of your order. There, right click on any part of the page except the Flash module in the middle and select "View Source". Scroll down towards the bottom of the screen that pops up and you can see your dealership's name, production #, and order details in amongst a bunch of gobbledy-gook. If a VIN is available, it will be here as well.)
I'm In Week 27 Also
Howdy Fellow 27ers!
I'm in Week 27 also. I just haven't chimed in yet. I just found out that my MCS JCW is supposed to be completed on Monday, July 3, 2006. I have had my car on order since mid-December 2005 (there is a huge wait at the Seattle/Tacoma dealer - yes, I could have bought elsewhere, but I wanted to buy here).
Here is what I am getting:
2006 MCS Coupe
JCW
Astro Black/Astro Black
Sports Package (no stripes, All-Season tires)
Cold Weather Package
Rear Fog Lamp
English Panther Black Leather
Anthracite Interior
Anthracite Headliner
On-Board Computer
Universal Garage Door Opener
Harmon/Kardon Sound System
Aero Kit
2-Pairs Of Driving Lamps (4 Lamps In All)
iPod Adaptor
Auxilliary Audio Input
Panther Leather Shift ****
Panther Leather Shift Boot
Panther Leather Hand Brake Cover
Panther Leather Hand Brake Boot
Map Light
Boot Net
Black Rubber Floor Mats (Front, Back, Boot)
Rear Bumper Protector
MINI Valve Stem Caps
Wheel Locks
JCW Door Sills
LoJack
Tinted Windows
Clear Bra
Chili Red Mirror Caps
Wheel Arches Painted Astro Black
Front Vents At Side Markers Painted Astro Black
No JCW Badges On Exterior
JCW Leather Steering Wheel
JCW Leather Dash
JCW Leather Down Tubes
I also have a few other things up my sleeve.
I'll be installing some of the accessories myself. This should be a great car.
Oh, and I'll also be buying some ASA AR1 black 17" wheels with machined rims. I put a performance tire on these rims.
I can hardly wait.
Cheers,
Bruce
