Length of time from Production # to Production Date

I'm starting to get anxious about having a production date so that I can join a support group. However, when I call 1-866-ASK-MINI they say I have no scheduled product date.

So, what's a common length of time from Production Number to Scheduled Production Date? I received my Production Number a week ago which was about 2 weeks from ordering.

Oh...is it bad if ASK-MINI is on my cell's speed dial and I know my P# by heart?

...and another thing: I wish ASK-MINI had the same automated voice as my dealer's answering system (Midwestern Auto Group - MAG): 1-614-889-2571

I got my production number on April 1st and my MINI rolled off of the line on April 24th. I think some peoples happen quicker than that though.

I ordered mine on April 22nd (from MAG) and got an email from my MA with the Production Number on the 25th. The car was completed on May 8th and is being picked up today. And, yes, I knew my PN by heart.

866-ASK-MINI > 2 > Production number > 1 > Receive incorrect, out-of-date info.

Sweet!

So did you ever have ASK-MINI say anything other than - No Scheduled Production Date?

I'd just like to know when they'll start or at least an indication of what production week I'm in.

Yeah, ASK-MINI was usually behind by a few days. I got the "No scheduled production date" up until a few days before that date. The live help seemed to know more, so hit "0" to talk to a human. Never trust the automated voice! After it told me that my car was "in transit" (meaning, on a truck), it switched back to "at the port awaiting a shipping vessel"?!

While allowing me another way to vent my ever building excitement I have found that ASKMINI was generally worthless. But the OL was really close all of the time. I got my production number March 14 (1 week after ordering) and OL was correct two days later.
I should say that when I talked to a real person at ASKMIN it was ok, but the computer guy sucked........

ryanmsmith: mine did the same thing......went back to saying it was at the port awaiting a shipping vessel until this last monday when it went to IT TRANSIT.

The Owner's Lounge just lists me as "On Order"

Never trust the Owner's Lounge and never listen to the automated voice at 866 Ask-MINI. They enjoy seeing how emotionally attached we become to our MINI's

I was really trying to determine when I would just know the product date not how long until it would take to be actually complete. However, I just found out my production date of June 12 today so that's about 2 weeks from ordering making the completion date about a month form ordering.

cool, walked in and ordered my clubman on April 21, was told I was scheduled for week 23, then called today and they started it yesterday. So did my production week change to week 21? I guess it takes about 8 days to build, then another week to get to the ship, then 21 days to get to where ever cars unload for Arizona, then to make it to my dealer.. waiting sux!!

Echoing the above, the live folks at ASK-MINI are generally best, the automated recording is sometimes right, and the OL is the last place to look for up-to-date info. Once you enter production, you get a VIN and a real timeline. Before that, it's just the torture of waiting!

Torture does not start untill your MINI lands on American soil.

From that point untill it arrives at your delivery dealer, there is NO WAY to track it.

Waiting for a VIN is not Torture...

Waiting while it is being built is not Torture...

Waiting for a ship is not Torture....
ALL SHEAR JOY!

NO WAY of Tracking your MINI after it us unloaded to VPC...

Cleaned/Repaired from any bumps on the ride accross the pond...

Cleansed from the unhealthy Brittish gasoline it was given at birth...

Loaded into a BMW Transport truck for the ride to your delivery Dealer...
NOW THAT IS TORTURE!
