Week 23 here!

Finally assigned for production, just bummed it's so far off - Im obviously not as calm as you two! Having the car shipped to the west coast then back in to CO will add even more time to the wait - aaarrrgghhhh!

Anyway, this little baby will be worth it:

Anthracite Interior & Headliner
Cordoba Leather
Interior Chrome
Premium Package (without sunroof)
Sport Package
Convenence Package
Cold Weather Package

The wait will pay off when I'm making the 800mi trip home from the dealer, crossing through the Rockies - Woo Hoooooo!!

Welcome to all. Glad I found some company. I am currently making al list of all the accessories I will be picking up. Trying to figure out places that I can get them for less money but with the Classic 20% it is hard to beat them.

I put my order in a week and a half ago. My MINI is set for production on week 23. Of course i can't wait. I seem to count the hours going by as my days slowly go by. So far I've made it a week and a half.

Here is what i'm waitin on:

Cooper S (Space Blue w/ Silver Top, Mirrors, & Bonnet Stripes)
Cold Weather Package
Convenience Package
Checkmate Package
JCW Package
Anthracite Headliner
Auto AC
Armrest
Rear Fog
HK
Nav
JCW Wing
Aero Kit

Immediate Mods:
-Clear Bra (www.proformauto.com for those in the mid-atlantic)
This is a must!! Can't drive any car without this!
-Alarm w/ remote start
-Window Tint
-Leather Shift/ebrake Boots
(so far i like the ones from www.redlinegoods.com) anybody know anyone else who makes some decent ones with custom colors?

Down the line Mods:
-Alpine head unit
-Nav-tv
-Front Strut Bar
-Front/Rear sway
-Suspension
-Exhaust Headers
-Air intake possibly
-Short Throw Kit
-18's? not too sure yet on it. (just for the fact of daily driving and not sure about running with or without run flats) I'm seeing mixed reviews on both. Some take the risk, some don't.

Looking/undecided:
Decent shift ***** (any suggestions?)

Ok, I think my list is long enough. This is what I do everyday since I have to wait. I'm sure everyone hear knows the feeling.

Week 23 too!

Hi all. I'm new here. Recently ordered my PW/B MC and can't wait to get it. While my online status still shows "on order", I followed the advice of the wise folks on this forum and called and talked to a real person at askmini. That's when I found out I'm in week 23!

Can't wait to start motoring!

I don't get it. Doesn't the dealer tell everyone when they're production week is?

My dealer was able to tell me right there, when my production week is and my production number on the spot.

My MA did not tell me a production date - only that I had the first slot in June for their dealership. Not sure why it differs from one to another -

I think some dealers are willing to put in a little more work than others. OR maybe they understand the system a little better. My MA just told me I has a slot for delivery in July.

I ordered MC/PW on 5/7/06. My invoice included the following:

Req. Prod: 2006/06/23
Sub. Prod: 2006/06/23
Conf. Prod: 2006/06/23
Quota: 2006/6

So does this mean I have a confirmed production date (6/23). Any idea
what the quota number signifies?

Not sure about this one my friend. My best guess (and this is truly a guess) is that your car is going to count toward the dealer's June quota. This dealers get a certain allotment of cars they can order each month.

Well it's official. I called ASKMINI finally and they told me I was slotted for week 23, end of the first week in June for production. For what it's worth to the last guy who wondered how come everyone else was so calm: I am a freakin' wreck right now! A handy little cal 2006 command later and I see they count that as the first FULL week in June, ending on the 10th (or 9th, whichever you prefer).

Dealer told me 6 to 8 weeks. I ordered on the 6th of May. So if it is actually done on the 10th, then if everything goes perfectly (shyeah) figure: a week to load on the ship, 12 days to sail, 2 days to offload and get delivered to distribution center, a week at distrubition center (I did say perfect), a week on the road to dealer with final dealer add ons. So in an ideal world that'd put me around July 14th for delivery into my hands which is about 10 weeks instead of 8. Granted a lot of that is guess work though based on reading other people's stories and such. I'm so tempted to just got get a GTI and call it a day. *sigh*

Cooper, Hyper Blue/Black Roof
Cold Weather Package
Premium Package
Front and Rear Fog Lamps
Rear Spoiler
Xenon Headlights

Yeah, I'm still a wreck too - it's so hard to keep my mind off that little bugger! I did just learn the production date is when it's slated to be done. I thought that's when they would start it, so guess I've just worked a week off my wait time!

So, I'm biding my time trying to think up a good vanity plate... my last name is Cooper so ever since I saw and fell in love with the MINI I thought I had to have 'MINIME' plates, which of course is already taken. Hubby thinks 'JOSMINI' is perfect but I just don't know... and I proabably won't get him/her named till I bring it home from Denver to AZ. Here's a couple of choices, could use your help: MMINIME AMINIME COOOOP MINIMEO and of course JOSMINI

Thanks all! Appreciate having folks to share this loooong wait with!

The production date is supposed to be when the car is done being built? Wow, i thought would start building it at that date. That helps a little.

... But I still don't have the MINI now...

I'll give you even more hope then. If you're week 23 your car is slated to be finished by the 10th. Which means in theory that your car could be done much earlier assuming the MINI dieties are smiling on the production line that day. And even better yet, if it's done early it's possible to get out to the dock early which mean, in theory again, you could get your MINI that much earlire if it catches an earlier ship. I checked out the ship schedule and ships are leaving several days a week so it's possible.

I commute 38 miles one way to work in some nasty traffic (Dallas, TX). My truck is 130K miles and getting tired and slowly crumbling and after my multiple test drives it feels like I'm herding pregnant yaks driving it. I can't get my mind of off this car.

I kinda like COOOOP myself, got that double thing going with your name and all.

I too, have a truck which I cannot use because of commuting. But I usually drive a minimum of a 100 miles a day, since I work in the field and I have to drive from one client site to the other. I actually like my truck, it is very useful to me. But since I'm going to sell my bike, I won't have any towing needs. So really the only things that i'm using out of my sport utility vehicle are the sport and the vehicle. So I say, why not just get rid of the utility and get a sport vehicle.

Don't do it. Step away from the VDub website. It will be so much sweeter when you get your perfect little MINI.

Don't give us false hope. I keep telling myself it is not coming until mid-August. Then I will be so happy when I get it a month early!!

I sold my bike as well. Hard to part with it but I think the MINI will take the place of it (really quickly)!!

That's one of the reasons i picked the MINI. It was a tossup between the MINI and the BMW M Coupe. But the M coupe wouldn't have been as great in the winter time. I needed fun in a car since I was selling the bike, which is why it came down to those two cars.

Of course I still may get an M coupe later on down the road. The reason I like the MINI so much is from the first drive of course. But what convinced was the way it drove. It felt very similar in handling as the M coupe only it was front wheel drive and it had front wheel drive characteristics. Very impressive for me.
