new here, an introduction

Hello,

My activation email said I should come here and introduce myself, so here I am!

Have been a MCS owner for just over 2 weeks. Bought it as my daily driver.

Didn't order, just bought a new one off the lot. Hyper Blue, only options are the sunroof and the interior body color painted bits. Oh yeah, a $550 Harmon Kardon stereo was in it, and I told the dealer I would never pay that kind of money for that particular stereo, so he threw it in for free. So I guess I got the car a bit under MSRP. Didn't want navigation or trip computer and the like, I'm a minimalist. I will likely be getting rid of the run flats at some point, and put some better rubber on the car to do some autocrossing.

I don't know much about the car yet, but I see that there is a wealth of information and experience here. I won't be adding much to conversations, but no doubt I'll be asking lots of questions.

Congrats and an excellent buy! The HK is awesome. Be sure to read the manual and adjust to your specific ears to avoid the "muddy bass" falacy.

Welcome to the madness!

Mmm cheesy flavour...

--Welcome Cheetos! Congrats on your 2 week old MINI. You'll find lots of great info and even cooler people here on NAM. How much was your MINI out the door? I'm just curious. Maybe I'll go to your dealer when I'm ready to buy my "race-only" MINI. Welcome again!

The negotiated price after knocking off the stereo was $22,950. Out the door would add Maryland title, tax, and license fees of course.

The local Mini club was meeting in the showroom as we were buying the car, and the salesperson asked me to not speak too loudly at the time about the radio deal...so I need to respect his wishes re not specifically saying where I got it.

BUT, um, there is a clue above which narrows it down to two dealerships!

I DO have one question. I love the seats, very comfortable. That said, I'm not a tall guy, about 5'8", shorter legs/longer torso. With where I put the seat to be right for me, I find myself seriously rubbing the left bolster getting in and out of the car. I would imagine that piece of the seat will be noticeably worn within a few months of ownership.

Anybody experience this as a problem?
