Mimi arrived on April 18 (100 year anniversary of the 1906 SF earthquake.) I figure she and I will rock and roll together should the next big one come. She's a dream to drive - I took her up to Sonoma last weekend and had a blast - except for the bugs that kept getting in her way!

Things to love:
- power and handling
- purring during acceleration
- good turning radius
- new car smell
- the 6th gear
- putting miles on mimi

Things that bug me a little bit:
- the arm rest - my elbow keeps hitting the top lid, sliding it open
- putting miles on mimi

This is a great forum. Has helped me out with some of her quirks:
- need to close the hunchback firmly
- don't worry about the burbling sound on low gears
- tips on having a great break in period.

Thanks for all the tips.

Mimi is dark silver MCS with black top, premium, sport, cold weather, and chrono, chrome line exterior and interior, black leather.

Welcome to the club! You will have a great time with your MINI.

As far as the arm rest goes, I did that too when I first got my car. You will get used to it and it won't happen anymore. I noticed that today as I was driving. Had my car for 2 months 10 days.

Motor On

Welcome to NAM, mimithemini...both for myself and on behalf of the many friendly NAMers presently occupied at the Dragon!! Sounds like you and Mimi have become fast friends (...both meanings would be appropriate here.) A newly arrived MINI does tend to shake things up a bit...I know I haven't been the same since mine showed up!!

Welcome and Congratulations on the new MINI. Check out some local clubs and meet some other enthusiasts. We have awesome roads and great people that find the most obscure twistys around in Cali

Thanks. I added a couple of thumbnails. I'm new and uploaded the "big" pictures, and they didn't show up. I'm learning.
