I emailed my MA this AM and got this response:

"Your MCS is expected to arrive at PH on 13 May. Depending on how many cars are at the Distribution Center, it can take anywhere from 3 to 10 days to arrive at the Dealership. The typical time is about a week so I estimate you car will be available the week of 21 May".

Based on the expected arrival date and the sailing time ASK MINI gave me (which jived with the times posted on several other production support weeks), I figure my MINI and several other West Costers were loaded and set sail the week of 23 Apr.

My MA is also not very responsive to emails or calls, so I mentioned in my email that I wanted to know the ETA so I could get all of loan paperwork at the credit union completed in time and also asked about the MINI financing. I got 2 repsonses within a matter of 10 minutes from 2 different MA's at my dealership telling me the same ETA date and also giving me the spiel all about the "Option Contract" and the MINI financing plans. I don't know if it will work for you, but it did for me

Wow, it looks like there are a few of us here that are going to the West coast on the same boat.

I recieved a packet in the mail today stating the same thing that was sent to me in email (that the car is on a ship and should be here soon). In the packet was a few papers and flyers of all the "EXTRA" options you can get including the extended warranties. Oh yeah, there was also a credit application. MA's letter says please send back ASAP.

So, I assume these options if selected at this time would be installed at the dealer or the VCD at the dock?

I talked to my MA later in the day, and there is no indication in his system that my MINI is on a boat. Still shows at the port. Looks like my MINI will be behind you guys on its way to the West coast.

If you are on the Freedom or the K-Line Emden, they are both making their approach to the USA. Both Ships are now showing on Ship Tracker.

Freedom is about 75 miles south of Martha's Vineyard and looks like it could dock in NYC Sunday morning.

Emden is about 200 miles SE of Nantucket or 500-600 miles from Virginia Beach which should have it unloading in Baltimore on Monday morning and in Charleston Wednesday morning.

Do these boats empty there cargo and then go back or do they continue on to the west coast?

Niether the Freedom or Emden are headed to the West Coast.

The next WW ship sailings from South Hampton headed to Port Hueneme, CA are

Don Carlos Dep 5/8 Arv 5/31
Falstaff Dep 5/11 Arv 6/3
Toledo Dep 5/18 Arv 6/10
Maesrk Tide Dep 5/28 Arv 6/20

K-Line does not serve the West Coast

Latest Ship Location

Here's the latest ship locations. Find your boat by name.

Click anywhere in the world and find the name of your boat.

Freedom is getting close but my boat is way the hell out there. <grin>
I've found out that I'm on the DON QUIJOTE.

Mmm.. if the above link does not work, try this one and click on "ships worldwide" then click on where you think your ship is.

Looks like the Freedom should be pulling into New York Harbor tonight since the noon report shows it off the tip of Long Island.

The Emden should be entering the Chesapeake Bay Sunday afternoon and be unloading in Baltimore Monday morning.

Hey, I haven't received any thing about extra options...

Yep. Also, according to ASK MINI, aero kits, graphics, etc are typically done there. Also a lot of the transport/ship damage repairs like scratches, dents, etc. are done at the Distribution Center, so that is sometimes why the vehicles can be at the DC longer than others.

I also found out this AM that I am on the DON QUIJOTE but never had a chance to post it. Hey, we are 1/2 way to the Panama Canal...OK, well maybe a bit farther...

So far my MINI is still sitting in Southampton. It has been there for about a week.

I found a website (from the Week 9 Thread) that lists NYK line west-coast schedules (since the NYKline website does not show them for some reason). It is a german logistics website, so the dates are for Bremerhaven, Germany. But from everything that I have read it takes about 2-3 days from Bremerhaven to Southampton.

Port = PORT HUENEME | Results = 10

ETS ShipName ShipAgent ETA
20.04.2006 DON QUIJOTE WWL 16.05.2006
22.04.2006 JUPITER DIAMOND N YK-LINE 16.05.2006
22.04.2006 QUEEN ACE UNITED/MOL 20.05.2006
04.05.2006 DON CARLOS WWL 30.05.2006
04.05.2006 RYUJIN NYK-LINE 26.05.2006
05.05.2006 CENTAURUS LEADERNYK-LINE 04.06.2006
08.05.2006 FALSTAFF WWL 03.06.2006
14.05.2006 HUAL SEOUL NYK-LINE 05.06.2006
15.05.2006 TOLEDO WWL 10.06.2006
20.05.2006 PEGASUS DIAMOND NYK-LINE 16.06.2006

So in the next week or so we have 3 chances Don Carlos, Ryujin, and Centaurs Leader (with the last 2 being the most probable since they are NYK ships).

Wow that's interesting. It seems like most MINIs headed to the west-coast are on NYK Line ships (at least from reading the previous weeks threads). The Don Quijote is a Wallenius Wilhelmsen ship. Did you put in you VIN in the www.2wglobal.com website Cargo Tracking -> Auto Cargo? It should give you a booking number, and with that number you should be able to see all of the MINI VINs that made it on that ship.

Ordered April 3rd
Completed April 21st
Enroute April 22nd
Due to port May 15th
Delivery estimated around the 22nd of May

Confirmed with my MA in Denver, CO.

Problem is, I have no idea what boat I am on still. MA did not say but I know there are boats coming in on the 15th and 16th to the west coast. The DON QUIJOTE and Cassiopeia Leader.

My vin# does not show anything on the WW line website.
My Mini is lost! I must be on a kline ship.

Still awaiting a shipping vessel apparently. I keep trying to tell myself it just gives me more time to sell my old car but I'm dying to get my new MINI. I've ordered some parts online for it and they're starting to accumulate. My wife thinks I'm crazy.

Ordered: April 7th
Completed: April 20th
Enroute: ???

SFgrunge and Minitee hang in there, your boat will come in soon...isn't that a saying of some sort...??

My MINI also hung out at the docks for a while before getting on a ship. I called human ASK MINI and he said it could be another week before a ship could come in, so I sorta of resigned myself to the wait and didn't bother to call ASK MINI for a couple of days.

Then I checked the roboto ASK MINI one day just for grins and learned that I was already on the high seas, which I was able to verify with a human ASK MINI and my MA. From the targeted arrival date and the sailing time, I back calculated my ship date and figured that I was loaded and set sail the day after the human ASK MINI person said I might have to wait another week for a ship.

Soooo, hang in there guys, ASK MINI may not be as up to date as we thought.

Another other option is to ask your MA for your bill of lading number and use that number to track you car, either via WW or calling NYKlines. My MA told me that I am on Don Quijote, but would not give me my BOL number. At this point as long as my car arrives when they have told me, I am OK not trracking it. I am using the time to finally clean out the garage for my MINI instead...HOT DAGIT...where did all this stuff come from

What kinds of accessories/parts have you guys bought so far?

I've picked up a 36mm oil filter socket ($13 + $6 shipping) from ebay and a short Alta antenna. I forgot to mention, on ebay you can get factory floor mats for $20 less than at the dealer (at least from my dealer)

looks like the ship is ahead of schedule, if it leaves baltimore today (wednesday) it should be in Charleston on the 5th, 2 days early

it really sucks to see people in each week's thread get bumped at the port. you'd think such variance in the process would be a non-quality that BMW would want to minimize...

hope you guys get a ship soon

Let's see, I've bought the Glove Box Tidy from GoMiniGo, the euro parcel tray, an aux audio input I'll install myself, rear cargo 'S' mat, cargo net, some nifty tire valve stem covers, clear protecting film for the fog lights, some wax & Sonus MicroFiber towels from Autopia, and looking at the XM Direct setup also. I love my XM and would like to not have the Roady XT I use clinging to the beautiful MINI interior. Lots of the MINI stuff I got from Morristown MINI who is having a 30% off sale.

Looks like the K-Line Emden docked in Charleston at 11:55am and is scheduled to start unloading at 1pm (10 mins ago)...

Port of Charleston's website is showing a vehicle carrier docked at the pier and berth that was scheduled for the Emden. The name hasnt been updated, but everything else fits.

There be Mini's unloading in Charleston!!!!

I noticed that the Don Carlos has slipped from leaving on the 7th to now it shows the 11th on the WW site. The Falstaff leaves the next day on the 12th (and gets to Port Hueneme 1 day earlier since it skips the East coast), so there are a couple of good shots coming up next week. However, if I miss those two its a wait until the 18th for the Toledo.

Congrats BlindLemonLars

Dude, are you driving your MINI from NY back to the Valley (Encino is considered part of the Valley isn't it?) or having it transported?

Minitee, M1N1N1M & SFgrunge, any word on your trip across the pond?

DOMC any word on your car? My MA still tells me mine should arrive at PH on 13 May.

Did any of you get an email from MINI/your dealer asking how you wanted your options programmed, e.g. follow me home lights, etc., and also what radio stations you want preset into your stereo? I had heard about the option programming, but had never read anything about the dealer presetting your stereo buttons for you, which is pretty kewl. Considering I am San Diego and my dealer is in LA, when they set my stations, they will be setting them to static

hey there! as we await the arrival of my wife's new mini and i read the prior production weeks threads hoping to gleen info on how the production/shipment progresses, i noticed you've got a BRG mini coming...congratulations! one of the main reasons we ordered (rather than buy off a lot) was the rarity of the BRG cars around So CA. did you notice the same thing? isn't it a great color?! we are going with the black roof, too. we are down a bit south of you but we'll keep our eyes open when we get up in the valley.... good luck on your car!
