Production Week 15 Support Group

I know that Boarder54 started a week 15 group, but another one can't hurt. I get my production # tomorrow & will excitedly begin holding my breath until I take delivery.

Anyone who has already been tracking the birth of their MINI have any good/bad news?

Are there any shipping issues awaiting us? (as I've been reading about in the past week or so?)

C'mon people, sound off like ya got a pair! We've only got 6 days to go!

My MCS is still in "on order" status. I was told by my MA that I'd be in production week 15, though. So what's everyone's guess as far as when they'll be arriving?

I just called ASK-MINI and was informed that my MCS is in production with an expected completion date of April 14th! Does this make me a Week 15er?

WooHoo, I just got my production completion date for the week of 14 April also!

I guess that makes me a week 15-er also. Is it just the two of us?

Week 15 here. ASK-MINI says my MCS will complete production on April 13th.

Anyone have any idea when the wait from time is from that point until it reaches our dealerships?

There must be others in Week 15. Nevertheless.. what did you order, sddave? Did you order from CA? I'm having mine shipped via truck/train from the Hamptons. Because I'm obsessed, I called ASK-MINI again today. My expected completion date has changed to April 13th.

Anyway, I ordered a: MCS, BRG/W (w/ bonnet stripes), white alloys, sport, cold weather, LSD, OBC, MFSW, rear fog, anthracite everywhere, security.

Before I received the status from ASK-MINI, my MA told me that he was expecting to have the vehicle in NY the last week in April. I've read in other threads that the shipping time across the Atlantic averages around 10 to 12 days (east coast), then goes through the Vehicle Distribution Center system, then to the dealer.

Anyway.. What did you order, HSE?

My MA told me that our MCS would be ready for pick up in early to mid June. I've never ordered a BMW/MINI before so I'm taking his word for it, but it seems that it should be here in early to mid May; "under-promising, over-delivering" maybe?

Here's what we ordered:
  • Chili Red with Black roof/mirrors/bonnet stripes
  • Premium Package
  • Sport Package (17" S-Lites)
  • AT w/Agitronic
  • Black Leatherette
  • Arm rest
  • Chrome Line interior
  • Cockpit Chrono Pack
  • Chili Red interior surface
  • Anthracite headliner
  • Rear fog lamp
  • Harmon Kardon sound system

My fiancee will actually be the primary driver but I'll be taking it out every now and then

Convenience Pkg
White Bonnet Stripes
Rear Fog
Leatherette Grey/Black
Cockpit Chrono
H/K Stereo

So thankful for this support group to help make the wait bearable!

ASK-MINI told me my MCS would be ready in mid-May. Weird my dealership told me mid-June. Maybe they were just covering their *** in case there were any delays?

Hey Everyone!

Looks like there are 4 of us now, glad to meet everyone

Hey Anon0mus,

Your are in Tacoma, I lived in Seattle for a very short time, but never made it out your way. I hear it is really different from Seattle. I ordered mine from Long Beach MINI and was on the "wait" list for only 2 1/2 weeks before I ordered. There are only 2 MINI dealers in So Cal that are MSRP'ers. I thought about going to Salt Lake MINI as they are MSRP also, with no wait time, but LB came through for me.

I ordered:

MCS (space blue/silver)
Sport Pkg with web spokes
Premium Pkg
Cold Pkg (how could I pass up bun warmers? )
Anthracite dash
LSD
HK sound
Nav (so now I don't have to stop and ask for directions anymore...like I ever did )
Panther leather

Hey Suzanne,

Many years ago I spent a lot of time in Charleston, are you far from downtown? There are some great restaurants there.

Hey HSE,

I would go by what ASK MINI says. Based on what I have read in other posts and in my own dealings, they seem to know more that the MA's at the dealers.

Hey peeps, we have just a little over 1 month before we get our new rides, so lets keep the week 15 support group going. I have been searching some old posts on shipping, i.e. tracking the ships, ports, etc. and will post what I have found in my next posting. I gotta stop looking at MINI accessories on the web and go back to work now

Hey Everyone,

In case you had not run across this, you can download the '05 Owner's manual, Nav manual and Stereo manual.

The site address is: http://www.motoringfile.com/ on the right hand side of the page about 3/4 of the way down under "Motorfile Downloads"

Granted they are not for the '06, but it may give you some idead of what to expect.

Happy reading!

Well, if my count is right...there are 6 of us so far! But I'm guessin' that I'm the most obsessed of all of us.

Anyway, I learned from another week's support thread that if you view the source code on the review order detail section of the Owners' Lounge...it'll tell you your full specs (plus the VIN). It might not work for everyone, but it did work for me. You will, obviously, have to read through all of the html tags.

sddave: For only being 30 miles away from each other, Tacoma has a pretty different character from that of Seattle. Each are beautiful and a great place to live, though!

WooHoo, 2 more week 15ers. Welcome O-Ron and Boarder.

O-Ron, what config did you order?

Boarder, ya gotta tells us more that that

Based on reading some other posts, it seems like it takes:

1 week to build
1 week to QC
a couple of days to get on to the ship
7-10 days to ship
and 1 week at the distribution center
and 1 week to get to the dealer
more or less

So I am figuring a mid May delivery, which is what ASK MINI indicated. Did anyone else get anything different?

I spoke to two ASK MINI operators. One said mid-May; the other said approximately 25 days from completion of production which, for me, is April 13th. Let's just keep our fingers crossed!

Hi, looks like I'm a week 15er too! We ordered from Classic Mini April 1 (I thought it was an April fools joke when my husband called and told me!) and got a production number on the 3rd. Ask mini says production will be completed on April 13th, only 3 days away! My MA told me early June for the delivery day, but I'm secretly hoping it might be a little sooner.

I'm getting:

CoB/B MSCS
Cold Weather pkg (test drove a cabrio in the snow with the seat warmers on, that won me over!)
DSC
H/K
LSD
Multi-function steering wheel
OBC
Xenons
Anthracite dash
black leatherette
fog lights front/rear

thinking

we're more aligned with the dates during week 15 now. I just called and my baby is in final assembly. He said it should be down to the port by the week's end. Yeh!!! I am hoping there is a nice, fast ship leaving end of this week for the east coast.
