tubwreck,

If you didn't reload the page before you posted I may have posted before you and then when you did post the page reloaded and you saw my post. Hope that makes sense.

Congratulations.

I would have been very frustrated and disappointed, to state it mildly, if my MINI would not have made the ship.

Hyperventilating again. Ask-Mini says "waiting for shipment". OL says "waiting for shipment." MA says "waiting for shipment, dude."

W&W says loaded on board.

Can I believe them?????

Some pearls from my Ask-Mini:
  • "Is this your first Mini?"
  • "The cars usually spend about 24 hours at the VPC"
And from my MA:
  • "Don't make plans until it comes off the truck here. I'll call you."
  • "We get the certificates of origin 2 business days later, like clockwork."
  • "Why don't they send the certificates with the cars? The trucks would never make it out of New Jersey."
  • "Watch it get unloaded? I don't think anybody's ever done that. It's really boring. Except when the car comes off at an angle."
Edit: Hey ronburton, who's your MA? He sounds like more fun than mine, if he's committing to a delivery between the 22nd and 25th. Are you going to go watch your car unloaded? How far are you from MOP?

OK, so found out my MINI is on the Centaurus Leader and wil be passing through the panama canal on the 20th of May and arriving in Port Hueneme on May 28th. YAY!!

"Don't make plans till it comes off the truck here."

HAHA. Thats funny. I have already set up a whole vacation in July around my MINI. Including reservations and time off work. I have too much faith.

My MA at MoP is Vinny McCauly. He has told me the same things you are being told. 48 hours to get the Certificate of Origin after the car arives, etc. His dates of May 22-25 was his best estimate of when I would be able to pick up the car. Although he seemed very confident of the date they were not a firm commitment but rather his best estimate based on his experience.

I live in southern NH about an hour from MoP. Although I think it would be interesting and I would really like to be there when my car arrived I had not planned to actually do that because of the time involved.

If you do go to MoP to see the cars arrive and take pictures maybe you could post them on NAM and we could all see my car before I pick it up.

Andy, what's your build date? I just called ASKMINI and found out that my MCSC is on a boat (yay!) headed over here to the left coast. My build date is 04-May.

Oh, the waiting is horrible...

Cheers,

Hmmm...who's your MA at MoP, Tubwreck? Mine is Joel. I definitely won't be at MoP when the cars arrive for the simple reason that I don't have a car to get there, LOL. But if you're going to be there, please take a couple of shots of the space blue/silver top MCS that they'll roll off the carrier I figure it will take a few days to pick it up as they need to install the invisi-shield and chrome front grille on mine.

Hi Doug!

I think we are on the same boat!! My MINI was also finished on the 4th! All my MA had to give was the name of the boat (Centaurus Leader) and the bill of lading number, which, of course, doesnt work on the NYK site. Did some sleuthing and found that information on the Panama canal passing and the arrival date at Port Hueneme. I am still working on finding a site that will show me exactly where the boat is. Its call sign is HOOB.

hmm, not sure what that number is either, all the info that I culled from the internet yesterday is at home. I will have to look at that. The arrival date of the 31st, is that arrival at PH? I was showing on the San Diego Port site that it was docking at PH on the 28th.

I think I'm on the Centurius Leader too! Automated ASKMINI says I'm 'In Transit'.

The Courage's position has been updated. It's now NNE of the Azores. It looks like it's about 1/4 to 1/3rd of the way here:

I'am guessing the Leader arrives in PH on the 31st. I called NYK and they do not have a record of the B/L I was given and he had no idea what the M6Mxxx number was. I guess we just wait. Like you we will be gone at the end of June. In other words its a guarentee ours will arrive during that time.

I have tried this site, but it wont list our ship!!! ARG!!!

When I get home, I will post the panama canal info I have, which lists a time that it is expected.

The information that I found on the Centaurus Leader is as follows:

May 20th at approx. 6:00 am local time (Panama) the Centaurus Leader will pass through the Panama Canal.

May 28th arrive at Port Hueneme berth 24-05. No approx. time of arrival given.

Call Sign HOOB.

Random numbers:

International ship registry number - 2674 9284740

21471 (?)

I also know that it originated in Bremerhaven so there will be some of our BMW brothers and sisters aboard.

As posted on MINI2, my MA is Steve McAteer. Like ronburton, I'm an hour away from MoP, so it's unlikely that I'll blow a day to watch the cars come off the truck. But perhaps some sporting motorer will be there for us.

Like you can't imagine. (well maybe you can)

I feel like running around and screaming to to release some tension. I think that may be frowned upon my office, however it would make for some interesting office chatter.
