.......AND I AM OUT OF FIRST GEAR!!! WOOO HOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, now for the little story. I've been a fan of the Cooper since I was a little kid and always thought that one day i'd buy one and fix it up. Then the New Mini was born and I was hooked! Took until this year for all of my stars to line up (just in time too!) and on Feb 22, I ordered my CR/B MCS JCW. I was told to expect a mid to late April delivery. Then, last Friday, Steve, my MA called and said "Mr. Davis, I have some great news.....your Mini just arrived at the dealer today!" UNBELIEVABLE!! So I scrambled to get my loan going, ultimately having to wait until today to get my check FedEx'd.

So, Check in hand, I get the wife to drop me off at Hertz for a one-way rental for my 200 mile journey. My wife is finally ready to get me out of the house and on my way because all I can do is talk about Mini's (am I the only one that did that???).

Showed up at the dealer 3 hrs later, and Steve (MA) had my baby all covered up, shined up and ready to go!!! LET's PULL THE COVER OFF AND LOOK AT THIS BABY. I'm as excited as I ever have been (feels like Christmas when your about 7 years old!!!).

It was hard as hell to keep her under 4500 RPM for the 3hr drive back but I did a few 3/4 open throttle runs up to 4500 rpms......Oh yeeeeaahh, that felt nice. Also, Mini must have adjusted their suspension settings because this thing rode very well for such a short wheelbase car w/low profile runhard tires!

I am loving the cover and then the reveal! Do they do that for all of the new MINI owners? Just like a big TA-DA! They could have tricked you and put a different MINI under there and watched your reaction

I don't know if the dealer does that for all it's customers, but my MA says HE does it for all his customers. I video-taped the reveal with my camera, but the AVI file is far too large to post. BTW, he did say TA-DA! after pulling off the cover! And it looked even better in person than I could have imagined. I didn't get home until late, so I can't wait to show the wife and kids the car in the morning !!!

I don't mind at all!! All I can say is that I am enjoying the hell out of this car!!
