Properly introducing myself....

Hello and a Happy St. Patricks day to you.

I posted here earlier regarding my new MCS and totally forgot to do the correct introduction, etc. Guess I was WAY too caught up in the excitement of finally getting to order my Mini.

Names Michael, live in a small rural community in Indiana, but am from Detroit. Moving back there this summer. Total car fanatic. Auto-x'er w/ old BMW 3 series (sold it) played the tuning game with a barge other wise known as a Grand Prix GTP (dont ask)...now finally getting the car I NEED..

Need some advice from the members here:

Do I go w/ my original choice of DS or should I get the RG? Want to have bonnet stripes, checkered sunroof, checkerd mirrors, will be tinting, aftermarket wheels in either anthracite or black, etc.

Opinions? Suggestions?

Looking forward to participating here, and possibly at some meets when "Smoke" arrives.

Michael

Welcome to the NAM group. And congrats on selecting a MINI. Iwent through the DS or RG debate for two months and decided on DS, white top, chrome mirrors. It really looks great. Only one problem, folks keep coming over and talking to me about the car. Lots of compliments on the color. I went to DS because from a distance the RG tends to look like black. Up colse RG is the best color on a MINI. Have fun deiding!

RG = BROWN

DS = DS

My first Mini was DS/W with white bonnet stripes. I enjoyed the color so much that my second one is DS/DS with white stripes on both the bonnet and boot. Just one man's frame of reference.
