2 days to go...need ideas too

Hi,

In two days I'm flying out to Classic Mini in OH to pick up my new Cool Blue '06 convertible...that is, if the JCW kit gets delivered today. After that it's a 6 hour drive home, which will be less fun because of the break in period. Still, I'm very excited. I'm not getting much work done today, that's for sure!

I'm trying to come up with a license plate for the car. I can use 7 characters. The one favored in our house is

BLUBY U

but I'm afraid I'll be repeatedly asked, "what's blubby mean?" The other I'm considering is

TI 3VOM or T1 3VOM

I liked

HI OFCR

but my wife thinks that's pushing my luck a bit. IM DRNK is therefore right out.

I welcome any suggestions...and let me know if the first choice is obvious or confusing.

Thanks!

Paul

What about BLU BYU? I assume you're limited to 7 characters so BLU BY U is out.

HI OFCR is funny, but I tend to agree with your wife.

I kinda like POP TOP for a cabrio.

Tell them it's a social commentary on all the other big cars on the road, as in 'blubby you'!

If you like the plate...it is all what it means to you.....My plate is NEWDL and everyone asks me what is with the "new deal" :impatientwhen it is really more like "noodle" a nickname that stuck when I was little.....

If you like the plate...you will live with telling everyone and thier mom, grandma, aunt and uncle what it means lol:

I do enjoy HI OFCR......I'll have to remember that for when I get a Bugatti Veyron.

P.S. Welcome to OHIO!!! Enjoy your ride!

If you have any issues with highway, or anyhting...just gimme a call on my cell at 330 352 2141 I live about 45min away from Classic.

My problem with BLU BYU is that it looks like initials. "Hi, I'm Bob L. Uecker and this is my wife Bonnie Y. Uecker." Or maybe I'm a BYU alum. The "blubby" thing is the problem. On the other hand, if they're not smart enough to figure it out, heck with them.

I like POP TOP but wife doesn't. What do you think about COOPDUP? I like it, though maybe it's not a perfect match for the cabrio.

Here's chutzpah: VETTKLR lol

- YURSLOW

I think I'm going to need more than one plate. Or more than one car

Thanks,

Paul

Thanks Neal.

I got NEWDL right away. I guess you don't get too many letters in OH?

I have a question for you...I'm new here so I'm not up on all the models and acronyms. What's an MC40?

Thanks!

Color me simple, but I give up. How the heck do you read TI 3VOM? The rest were easy but I can't figure that one out.

I reserved MINIPWR to put on my MCS when she gets here. Most people will think MINI Power, but I work in a Nuclear Power plant so everyone at work will envision a miniature Pressurized Water Reactor under the hood...

pgifford: I'm flying back to Classic in May to pick up my baby (PH/W MCS). We did it in '04 when hubby bought his JB/JB MCS. Had a great drive back home to California! Can't wait for this trip!

Congrats! You leave tomorrow! Have a great time, take pictures!

Question: When we bought from Classic the last time, they included floor mats and also the driver's side convenience shelf. Are they still doing that? I was going to ask my MA, but I don't want to call and ask only that. I've already called enough about my production #, VIN, etc. I don't want to sound any more like a nag than I already do.

Be sure to give us a play by play of your delivery day.

I was getting ready to reply then realized this is the same SkateMom with the PH that I talked to on MINI2 When I took delivery of Grimace two weeks ago, Classic included rubber floor mats, a GBO, MINI Keychain, MINI Mints and a small model MINI. They apologized for not having PH models which I thought was sweet.

I'm from CA too...but the other half (SF Bay).

I'm getting there at night so I don't know how many pictures I'll be able to take (in to CLE at 6pm). No convenience shelf that I know of, but they're still giving out mats, glove box organizer, and other stuff. I've been trying to spend the $500 in options (for taking from stock)...I've gotten rid of $480 of it (not counting the JCW tuning kit!). There's a Classic MINI board under "new buyer services" on the forum. In there is a message listing what you get. I'd link it but I'm lazy right now.

I've been bugging my MA plenty...and he'll have to put up with me on the ride to the dealership from the airport. After that...I'll be bugging the parts shop for accessories

I'll be sure to post a full account of the delivery. So far I've been very impressed by them.

I haven't thought of that one...it's the best of the permutations I've seen so far (and I thought I'd tried them all!). That phrase is definitely my wife's favorite...and it's up there for me too. While shaving this morning I thought of:

WKDQUIK

My wife can't wait for me to get the car, because then maybe I'll stop talking about it

Thanks! Last night I thought of COOPDUP. My wife ran it by her girlfriend who replied, "what's 'coop dupe' mean?"

There's such pressure...get the right license plate. Discover the right name for the car. Which accessories to buy after I buy the car. So many decisions!

While typing this, my MA called to let me know everything is going great with the installations (stripes, JCW, audio jack). Yay...tomorrow is almost here!

Hmmm...a little too...obvious? Like when my MA asked if I wanted a Cooper S license plate frame. I said, "It says that on the back of the car!". I went for "let's motor".

Thanks though!

Here's the latest thought...at least this one got a chuckle out of my wife:

SUVEATR

I like the absurdity of it.

Oh, and did I mention TODAY IS THE DAY! I'm at work counting down the hours until I leave for CLE. I've got my boarding pass printed, my little GPS receiver (Garmin i3 - can't recommend it enough) loaded with maps from MD to OH, insurance card, sight draft, paperback book, breath mints. Oh, camera too. I'd better throw in a snack...I'm flying Southwest.
