i was driving the wife's mini this afternoon and the digital readout in the tach gauge was set to MPH....... it changed it self to temp and started to ding? anyone one know why?????

 

Was the outside temperature at or near 37 degrees? If so, it may be the ice warning. It will warn the driver it's possible for ice to form on bridges/roads.

 

yes it was 37...... it's Maine.. it's always at or near 37 very cool feature though thanks.... that'll calm the wife down.. she thought something was wrong

 

I member the first time that happened in the X3, I was like OMG there is a bomb in the car or something O_o

 

It's a cool feature, but everytime it blings and buzzes, my co-motorers ask me if there's something wrong with my car. Then they find this feature very nice!

Audi displays a little snow flake when the outside temp hits -5c. I think it's a much better "design".
