I got my new 06 MCS
Hey everyone, i just got my 06 MCS, been saving for it for a while and went from my 96 318ti bmw to this and i love the MCS 10000 times more! right now i am in the process of braking in my engine. What do you suggest that i drive it till before i start doing longer shifts and adding performance to my engine. The dealer said 1250 and keep it under 4-5k RPM's but i jsut want to be on the safe side. Also, ive been looking at alot of parts for it and it seems endless on what you can do..any suggestions on what i should start with doing performance wise?
Not sure what others think but you should be fine just following the normal break in procedures that your dealer told you. After that, go for it!
When I bought my '04, I picked it up on May 1, and had it broken in and at it's first track day on May 27. Never any problems with it.

I was told to keep mine under 4k until 1000 miles, then go for it by the dealership. I have over 25k on mine and it is running fine. It has been driven pretty spirited everysince, no problems. Your Mini sounds nice
I would try an intake and exhaust, factory is restrictive. This is a good place to get info. I got my 05 MCS in July of 04 and recently find this forum and all the mods. Hope you in joy, MOTOR ON.
hey thanks alot for all the help, where do you think the best place to get all the parts from, ive been looking at a few sites im sureyou all have seen them before. www.minimania.com and www.minituner.com .

Other than the "don't go over 4000 RPM's" my dealer said to try not to drive it at the same speed consistently for the 1st 1250 miles. Of course I had to drive it on the interstate for 125 miles when it was brand new so I kinda had no choice but to ignore that one & so far at 11K miles no problems
