Capital One gave me 6.25%. That was a fast and painless process!! That's .35% better than Chase. This one's gonna be my only car payment, so I'm gonna finance the whole amount of the car.

I have excellent credit and Chase offered me 6.6%. Definitely beats BMW financing rates, but not as good as 6.0
I used Lending Tree and got a Capital One quote of 5.39% for 36 months. Home equity next.

I second the credit union if you have one. Ours has 4.9% up to 72 months. I just got approval for my mini that should be here by the end of the month.

I finally got a response from my MA. I am on a K Line ship called INGOLSTADT which is supposed to get to Charleston by 2/17! Is anyone else on this ship?

I am 70% certain I am on Ingolstadt.

I posted about this on Page 19 of this thread.

Have an e-mail outstanding to my MA ... we'll see what, if anything, I hear back.

But now that I hear that another MINI is on Ingolstadt, I am more convinced than ever that Stevie is on board that vessel too.

Glad to hear your MINI found a ride, docjohnboy! The Ingolstadt actually is scheduled to arrive in Charleston one day ahead of the Integrity, so you did well.

When did this change?

I've been trying not to pester my ship, the Integrity, too much - just leave her alone, let her do her thing - come to PaPa, yadayada. So for something to do, I check her schedule status on the WW site and notice she's due in NYC on the 14! Now I like Valentine's day as much as the next guy, but wasn't she on an 8 day voyage due in on Sun. the 12th? When did this turn into a 10 day voyage?

The Double-Secret-Dealer-Tracking-System(tm) has an arrival date of 2/20. With the standard "3 to 10 business days" before the dealer has it. Holy Crap! That's under 3 weeks from now! (How's that for optimisitic?)

I guess I should figure out how to pay for the car now, huh. MINI Financing is at 7.4% for 5 years. I think I need to do some rate shopping.

Try Gilmore Bank out of the south. They beat all the other banks. Need great credit, and previous loan history. Home equity loans are at 7% ++ but you do get to write it off with your home interest. It isn't good finance to charge a car on long term $$ unless you set up a payment style that pays off the car in 4 to 5 years.
oh yea that is what I do for a living...... give people money

I don't know, it looks like it's on course to me...4 days in and it looks to be about half way

I can't handle the stress of tracking the ship. Obsessively calling ASK MINI took its toll on me. I've decided to just sit back and wait for the ship to arrive.. I'm not sure if its possible to be that patient.. but I'm trying

I can relate to that! I'm obsessively trying to figure out when the Boheme will enter Halifax (and more importantly depart for NYC). I'm chewing my fingernails off waiting for Emma to arrive.

Definitely do rate shopping. I'm getting 5.49 from Pentagon Federal Credit Union for 60 months. They were one of the better rates that I found

Why take all the fun out of it, fellow motorers. I know the Boheme is on it's way.....with a brief stop in Halifax today. This is a good thing that's happening and it's only going to get better and better. I'm enjoying the anticipation and thinking about how much more fun the driving experience is going to be. I'm getting a kick out of being able to track my Mini every step of the way. While there has to be some angst in waiting, this step feels more about a time of gladness that the waiting is almost over. Everyone in Week 4 will be in the cockpit very soon. Yes!

Integrity's progress

Given that Integrity seems to make about 10 degrees distance westward every 24 hours, I too, see no reason why she shouldn't make NYC by Sunday. Maybe Wilhelmsen's on to all of us MINIAC's flooding their site and has decided they'd mess with us just a bit. :impatient

Interesting - today the tracking information (review order details section) on the website only shows the estimated delivery date for my MINI. It used to display the VIN and other pertinent details.

Check out the Port of Charleston vessel schedule page:

http://www.port-of-charleston.com/Vessel_schedule.asp

There were a bunch of WW ships unloading vehicles on 2/5, 2/6, and 2/7

Franconia is expected on 2/9
Liberty is expected on 2/11
Ingolstadt is expected 2/17
Itegrity is expected on 2/18

The site shows which ships are currently docked. Nice feature!

Check out the Port of Charleston vessel schedule page:
Wish I could find one of these for the port of Newark (NYC). I looked for one for Newark and also for Halifax (Boheme docks here today).

Holy Smokes! I finally found vessel schedule information for the Port of Newark The URL is http://www.firstnynj.com/. One of the fields on the screen is the Vessel Name (also the Vessel Call Sign). For the Boheme (SIVY), it shows her arriving at Public Berth 17 on 2/10 at noon and leaving at 10 P.M. FYI - this link doesn't work properly in Firefox.

Sam:
Thanks for attempting it but this link looks like it is for container vessels only - I didn't see any information about auto carriers. This link http://www.firstnynj.com/ is what I have been searching for.

There hasn't been any sight of the Boheme since 1200 yesterday. My guess is that it's because it was approaching Halifax. Yes, great find!!! It's nice knowing that it get's into NY/NJ at noon. The next step will be a transport to the VDC. Probably won't be checked out until Monday.

docjohnboy: We're shipmates! Woohoo!

MA confirmed this morning that - just as I had guessed - my MINI is on the Ingolstadt, still scheduled to arrive in Charleston 2/17.
