Hopefully they can get my roof rack installed pretty quick, so I can have the car for the weekend

Woot

WOOT!!!

Just talked to the accessories guy at our dealership (Baron MINI in Kansas City).

They picked up our car this morning. They called for car and key memory preferences. I was told that it will get the 35% tint all around today, then on Wednesday next week (15th) the Aero Kit goes on and we pick her up on Friday the 17th.

Can't believe our car is now only a 3 hr drive away

My Emma is on dry land on good ol' USA soil (port of Newark). Saw this on the WW site:
DISCHARGED NEW YORK, NY 10/02/2006 15:00
WhooHoo - looks good for pickup sometime next week - hopefully she was driven gently down the ramp and not pushed overboard!

The Boheme should have arrived at the NY/NJ port at noon today. In '02 I was stuck at the dock for a few days and then at the VDC for a total of ten days.....don't think that will happen this time. There will be no back-ups because the factory was just starting to crank them out again after the three week shutdown. My estimated date of delivery to the dealer is 2/15.....coming up on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, for you West Coasters

The DON CARLOS has entered the Caribbean Sea after a brief transit through the south corner of the Bermuda Triangle.

There are live webcams for the Panama Canal, but I can't seem to find online schedules per ship.

Regardless, 10 more days to Port Hueneme. We're (essentially) halfway to port.

My vehicle was officially discharged from the Boheme at 3:00pm. Nice to know that it's finally on American soil.

Soiled

Congratulations Herb! Does this make you the first of the Prod. Wk. 4'ers to "get soiled" ?

. . . though you were both discharged at 3:00 (15:00). Guess it's a tie till we see the results of the photo finish cameras.

Thanks! It's nice to be in the front of the line rather than in the middle or back. There's more than enough room for the two of us who have gotten this far. Now that I can almost touch it the intensity of my anticipation has jumped a notch. It won't be much longer now.

I exchanged email with my MA yesterday and she indicated that she would know more on Monday about the status of the car. I'm hoping for a Thursday pickup - they will be installing the sportlink on my car but that shouldn't take them more than 2-3 hours. Can't wait to be driving a MINI daily (my wife has been gracious enough to allow me to drive her MINI to work twice a week to tide me over).
Best of luck to you Herby!

Best of luck to you and your two Mini family. It'll take a little longer for me.
Once it gets to the dealer it'll be getting a JCW intake, 17% pulley, rear sway bar, short shifter, non-runflats, slotted rotors & green pads, M7 front grill,
Shelby stripes and a GIAC computer chip download. If I know this stuff is being added.......I can handle waiting.

The next fun thing to wait for is a call from the dealer letting me know that it's there. I live ten minuites away.

My car left England on 1-31-06 and I assumed that I was on the Don Carlos, but I just talked to my MA and she confirmed that the car left England on 1-31-06 but is due into Port Hueneme 2-20-06 instead of 2-21-06. So I asked the ship name, she said it was the Sirius Leader (call sign H3KF). I have tried to track this ship, but with no luck. This all makes sense because my VIN# never showed up on the WW website. So may be some other cars shipping to Port Hueneme are on this ship?, she also said the the ship due in on 2-21-06 was delayed for some reason.

You have to go to....http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/searchCargo.do

This is a Wallenius site. Click Auto Cargo and plug in your VIN#. It will include a history since it was received at the Southampton terminal. Anyhow, you're off the boat and heading for the VDC.

By the way, Audrey, you are the third person on this thread who was on the Boheme. I'm headed to Mini of the Main Line near Philly.

All us Left Coast, Week 4 Production guys are in the dark! My MA said our Mini will be in California on the 20th too! The Sirius Leader isn't sailing but the Don Carlos nears the Panama Canal. VIN, mine has fallen off the Mini website altogether, and doesn't track on the WW site either. WHO KNOWS!!!

I'm planning a trip to Salt Lake City the first week in March, that much I do know.

To all the Week 4 people on the East Coast congrats! You'll be on the road while us folks out West will be wating a few more anxious weeks!

Steve

Brrrrrrrr . . . .

. . . . 'cept I notice there's a big, wet, cold and nasty snowstorm blowin' out to sea on this coast for the weekend. Wonder if it could hold things up for Integrity's landfall on Sunday?
