Oh and if any of you Classic folks see a RG/S JCW w/ bonnet stripes when you pick up your cars, snap a quick pic for me.
The end is near!
I went ahead and got my insurance transferred and am headed out to get the certified check. I honestly don't mind waiting.. I just want to know. I'd hate to **** off my ride to OH with last second changes.
Pacing back & forth, repeat . . .
Yeah boy - the closer we get to delivery the further away the car seems. My car disembarked the INTEGRITY on 2/13 at the Jersey VPC. Now, 11 days later and it's still not down the road here to my dealer. The real torture is I had to watch a Prod. Wk. 5 buddy, who also came over on the same ship, take delivery just last night. ("saakey" - check out the shot I got of him as he exited the dealer over on the Prod. Wk. 5 thread) His car got to the dealer last Mon. 2/20 but inexplicably mine wasn't on the same truck. Everyday since, my MA's been telling me "it'll be in tomorrow" but noooooooooo.
He claims they cannot "communicate" with the VPC to inquire about the whereabouts of the car until 10 days have passed. So yesterday we passed the magical 10 day barrier and they fired off an email to the VPC. This morning my MA showed me on his screen that the car was "released to the carrier" at 10:16 so in theory it should be here this afternoon. I remain a sceptic but knock on wood, cross fingers, etc. - I'll believe it when I see it.
My biggest concern through all this mysterious delay of course has been, well why the delay? Oversight or my worse case fear - the car was damaged?! So my MA's comment on that is, IF it is damaged it's better to be repaired at the VPC because "MINI" folks do the work there whereas any damage discovered here at the dealer level involves bringing in outside or farmed out help. Also if the car did sustain any damage they are required to inform me of the nature of it and the repair required to rectify it.
So, I'll just keep hoping I'll get a call here this afternoon with some good news - car's here, there was no damage, it was just overlooked. Still won't get the car by end of day Sat. though cause clear bra guy doesn't return till Mon. MA's have a real incentive to get the cars out the door by the last day of the month though for bonus reasons (my MA needs 12 cars a month) so hopefully this will help light some fires under some fannies!
. . . motoring in my mind . . .

Just a note on your situation. All you need is your drivers license and proof of insurance on your current car......thats if you have one. As for financing you could do the following. Its called a "Option Contract" which gives you 5 days to get and bring back your own financing. If you dont then you go with whatever rate you qualify for. But tell them that I am getting so and so percent from a credit union or bank. Tell them if you can beat the rate I will go with you. Hope this helps!

)Got my proof of insurance and my check from the bank. All systems are a go. Now I just need the CAR
Oh, well........have to wait one more day. Just spoke to the service manager and they're working on things right now. Helix Motorsports is installing performance upgrades and an independent stripe guy is applying the Shelby stripes.....both at the same time. When I spoke to them earlier in the afternoon neither one had gotten there yet......made me just a bit nervous. However, all's well that ends well and it will be ready for me tomorrow. I'm feeling much better than I did earlier in the day.
Fiiii-iiiii-iiiiinally got word from Classic that Grimace came in on an afternoon truck. The service guys are gone for the day so it'll be prepped & cleaned in the morning. I'm set to pick it up anytime after noon.
Between all of us, this place is going to be PACKED with pics tomorrow!!!
Anyone waiting on a baby from Classic that wants me to get pics?? I'm taking the D70 and a huge card so I can take TONS o' pics.

Yes, please. I haven't confirmed but I am assuming my car came in with one of the trucks today. It may be off to the tint shop but if you see a RG/S JCW with bonnet stripes that looks lonely, please take a photo or two to share. 8 days left!
My Kosei K1's with Eagle F1's came in the mail yesterday and I picked up my SSR Comp's w/ Azenis from Webb this afternoon. 2 sets of shoes and no car.
Mo Pepper came home today! A mini MINI saga!
Here she is having her "C-cup see thru bra" adjusted.

Her bum ain't bad either...after I had the black "panty" put on her bumper.

My MA liked the Cooper Flags stripes and reflective vinyl "S."

1 P.M. Motoring! Finally! 24 miles on odometer. Mo Pepper is getting frisky up near the 4500-5000 rpm range. Gosh this car LOVES to be driven! Hard to hold her down. She's beginning to make passes at other cars!

She's done it now! I had to step away...this might get ugly!

Whew! She came away unscathed. Even talked the big boy into meeting her at the church. I told her I was not about to give her away!

Hmmmmmmmm...big boy never showed! She's all mine now!

She says she's come to her senses...doesn't care where we live as long as the gas stations don't close and she's free to MOTOR!
(OK...so I'm obsessive. Sue me! I LOVE my new MINI!)

Lil' bluzeke's finally at the dealer!
Well I guess somebody "up there" finally heard me.
About a hour after my 1:00ish post of frustration yesterday, I got a call from my MA telling me my car had just come in on the truck!
Halle-freakin'-lujah!!!
Seems there was no other reason for the delay other than perhaps the car just got overlooked at the VPC. Just missed it getting to the dealer in time to make delivery today so Tuesday will have to do - that's fine, just knowing she's safe at the dealer now and not lost in some dusty corner of the VPC lot is a load off my mind. My wife and I must've spent an hour in her last eve just admiring, checking things out and listening to the ever so sweet sound of that JCW - sends chills just thinking about it.
She basically gets the alarm and clear bra on Monday and should be ready to roll home where I've got a few small interior mods to make before her initial "photo shoot".
Here's a couple pre-delivery views just to wet the appetite.
After almost 4 years of dreaming and drooling, I still cannot believe this car actually has my name on it.

May Mercury and all other gods related to speed be with all you fellow Prod. Wk. 4'ers awaiting your MINIs!
Think I gotta go back to the dealer now, borrow the keys and get my Saturday dose of "sittin' on the lot seat time".

My car was parked right in behind Grimace (who is a very sharp car in person btw!!!). I just can't get enough of driving this car, it is such a pleasure!! Enough of my rambling, I have some clean up to do tomorrow, then it's time to snap some pics!!!
