Welcome doku005!

I don't have any particular feedback or interest in the cupholder, BUT...

One of the OEM MINI options that is not available in the USA is the power folding mirrors. If I'm not mistaken, this option is most definitely available in Japan, and it might even be standard.

Do you have any information on them? Are they standard or optional? If they are optional, do you know if a "retrofit" kit exists, in order to add the feature to an existing MINI?

I'd be very interested in finding out the part number(s) involved in order to retrofit this feature... there are some aftermarket solutions out there but I really want to get my hands on the OEM solution. With the right part number(s), I could then begin a search (internationally if necessary) to obtain them.

Many thanks for any help or advice you can give!

yes, the power mirrors are standard here. I'll try to look into getting the part numbers. It's made in the UK and shipped here, so it's probably standard there also. The only problem with getting parts here is the price. Example: www.minimania.jp (almost double for most things).

Try looking for some UK owners, too.

I think that Mikey the MINI has something for the folding mirrors. You might try there...

Welcome. Grats on the MINI I was looking at your pics and was confused for a moment because the first one were a 3 series, but then I saw the MINI. I like the LCD screen you got. Best of both worlds since you get to keep the center speedo, although it did seem kind of high, does it get in the way at all while driving?

Thanks for the tips... I am still hoping a "retrofit kit" exists somewhere in the world for where the power mirrors are available but not standard.

Thanks daflake... but I knew about those. I don't want them, I want the OEM solution. I'm trying hard to keep my car as OEM as possible. Why? I don't know, just because. Obviously I made a few exceptions for things that are not available in OEM form, like the Ian Cull Auto-Up Circuit and the Schroth R4 harness.

They have been a dealer option here for over a year. I'll call the parts department and see if I can get you the part number.

I have the OEM Nav, and for peace of mind, neat & tidy "out of the way" install, and the fact it can't be easily stolen... it was worth the cost, to me.

Thanks minibrokaw/Greek MINI! That would be AWESOME - especially if there are any install instructions (in English?) to go along with them.
