Week 45, lots of anticipation, some ?'s

Hey All! I was given a production week of 45 a day after I ordered my pepper white s ! Can I hook up my ipod mini to the standard stereo or do I need the HK system ? What does the adapter kit cost and involve? Also, I'm new to run-flats, any comments?

Welcome. You should check out the Production Week 45 Support Group thread and join everyone there in his/her wait for a MINI.

There is a search function that you can enter key word(s) and find the info you want and need.

Basically you can hook up you iPod through a AUX adapter ($40). You could do this yourself. There are more advanced options that cost more and do more. Use the search function.

Key in runflats and you'll get plenty of comments.

Unfortunately, you've got plenty of time to read them all as you wait for your car.

ipod aux adapter

Thanks for the response. Do I get this from Mini dealer or from ipod? I don't require anything fancy or expensive.

Randy-ole-ran,

Congrats on your new MCS. If you've ordered the 17 inch runflats I'll suggest that you change your order to the 16 inch ones. The ride will be more livable for you.

As far as ipods go either go with the MINI ipod adapter or the audio adapter. Check the links below. They also have the install instrutions there.

I don't have an ipod, but when I get one I'll be using the ipod adapter.

Ipod info

Thanks Chuck, very helpfull!. I did order the 16 wheels only because I have occaisions to use snow chains once in a while. I live in a rural area on the north side of a mountain! The ipod interface kit sounds neat! It will make long drives to the inlaws even more fun!!

hello randy and welcome to the wonderful wait for your MINI! my suggestion for the ipod is to do a search for 'dension icelink' specifically the plus model which allows id3 tags on the headunit.

so more importantly, tell us more about your MINI... what options?
you'll find a bunch of us in the week 45 support group!

This is like chewing gum and... I "joined" the week 45 group and detailed my baby there. Thanks for the ipod suggestions. Can't wait to cruise with tunes!

I donknow but I think that the iPod interface will give you just as much info as the Dension ICE link does Plus it was a joint collaboration between Apple and MINI
