Mine is also approaching 2k. I think I'm at 1950 or so.
That's pretty funny about the messy VW - when we got the mini I started to prepare my wifes 03 passat for sale, and you wouldn't believe the crap in there. Fries, receipts, you name it. I think I also collected around $10 in change, so the mini got a wash that day. She has been driving the mini to work, and I made sure to show her the full 13 gallon trash bag full of stuff before she took the wheel. She said:
"All that stuff wouldn't even fit in the mini!" I think she got the point, as the car has been spotless.
The mini is so damn fun to drive though - A few days after we picked it up, my wife asked me to get some stuff out of the garage which required moving her passat, which was parked in front of the mini. I don't know what came over me, but as I backed the mini out of the garage, I just kept driving. I returned in a few hours, expecting to find her raging mad - she said - "I knew when I heard the mini's engine start that you were going to be gone for awhile". She really understands me.

gave blue a quick bubble bath... it's 55 today but the hose and everything is still disconnected so I'm not ready to give him the zaino treatment that he so deserves. it breaks my heart cause I can see a few light swirls... but I guess it was bound to happen. I'll take care of that soon enough :D

Had errands to run all over Indy today. Took MIB to D&R (North side) for a much needed bath, Though it is supposed to rain on Sunday and snow Monday. Then an errand on the East side, Two stops on the South side, and back to the West side. Did the entire 465 Donut around Indy. That put over 60 miles in one day now past 2000 miles.

agreed... the shifter gets MUCH better. hard to explain, but just better. and it keeps getting better btw.
also, for the record... the break in period is officially 1250 miles. I hit 1200, stopped, took pictures and everything... made up my sig. then read the manual the next day at work and boy was I bummed. On the other hand I then got to drive it some more and photoshop in the 1250 from the daylight picture I took of 1250. (you'll notice it's a night picture, but says 8 something AM

I posted this in the Exterior and Interior mods area, but I wanted to show it off to my fellow week 45'ers.
I did my first real mod to the MCSC last night (other than screwing on a honda S2000 aerial) - the aero grill.
The top section was quite easy but the bottom section was a bit more difficult. Lots of dremelling (I think that is now a verb) to get the grill to sit flush. The first pic is a before shot -
