Hello all,
As a longtime lurker, I figured it was time to join in - my DS/W Cooper S is in Charleston and should be on its way soon (provided Ophelia doesn't do a number along the coast). I have lusted over minis since first seeing an article in Popular Mechanics prior to their reintroduction. Now that a loan on a Honda has been paid off, it's time to go back into debt again. Thanks to you all for information shared in forums that helped make decisions for the build. Pictures will follow along shortly.
I am definitely looking forward to taking Wahoo for a spin along some of the twisties here in southern Indiana.

Hi Earl,
Modding shall commence approximately two hours after delivery from Dreyer & Reinbold in Indianapolis (Its normally a one hour drive - but it is possible I may get distracted).
First mods will be convenience/comfort: auto-up window & euro shelf on order
Next in line: new wheels and non-runflats
Driving instruction: (Phil Wicks?) hopefully one will come to the region sooner rather than later
After that: suspension performance mods (rear sway bar is high on the list).
Yikes!
How long do you plan to wait before you start modding?

Who does one typically root for in southern Indiana - the Reds, or are you one of those St. Louis fans my Red Sox disappointed so last October?
Welcome to NAM, shoelessjoe! Congrats on Wahoo...hope he/she arrives soon! There's a great group of MINI people with a club in Indiana. Be sure to check out the regional forums and say "hi" to tencan and the gang!

How many MINIs are in your area? I was in Richmond IN not long ago to drop off my daughter at college and there were NO MINIs anywhere near. Even driving through Dayton OH there were NO MINIs. You might get some envious looks when you start driving around.
This week I get people asking me about gas mileage now that gas is up to as high as $4.18 per gallon in Hawaii (gasp!). I tell them I can get 33 mpg if I could only drive at the speed limit (that hasn't happened recently).:impatient
