 I have my Vin # as of this morning. So if everything goes according to plan I should have a new car the 1st or 2nd week of November. It will all depend how long it disappears into the black hole that is the New Jersey processing center.

This is just as exciting as waiting for my first MCS.

Just called ASK and talked to a person (Tony, thanks again DiD) he was still firm on the 10/3 date however he was a little concerned that the status had not changed yet (still in production) and the 3rd is this 5 days away:impatient . He did say, for the Indy people, that Charleston SC was the port of entry. He also said it takes a couple of days to get on the boat, 2 weeks across the pond and a couple of days to clear customs in port. Then the short trip to Indy. So maybe we are looking at the first week in Nov

BTW, I don't know about the rest of you but my best updates have come from dealing with Tony (I think, I'm so bad with names ) at ext. 6292 (the extension is right for sure though).
Just spoke with ASK-MINI (no Tony, his voice-mail picked up ), was told the car entered production 9/23, should enter the body shop early next week. Estimated completion date is still 10/4.

Hmmm...if it doesn't enter the body shop until early next week (Monday being 10/3), I don't see how it can be complete by 10/4.

The nice girl I spoke with at Mini surprised me by telling me that our car is supposed to be "Hot pink."

Hi all!

I'm also in week 40 - just ordered my car last Friday 9/23! Production began on Tuesday and it's scheduled to be completed by 10/6 per ASK MINI. OL finally updated today to indicate scheduled for production as well as posting of the VIN.

It took me over a year to finally get off the fence and order one, but now that I've finally ordered it, the anticipation is killing me. I live on Long Island, so at least my MINI won't have far to travel once it clears the port in NY/NJ.

My Mini on the Owner's Lounge lists a VIN. And calling the 866 number I was given an estimated completion date of Oct. 7th. So I'm thinking maybe I'm a Week 40 build as well =) Can't wait!

Welcome to week 40

Welcome,
Bilbo-Baggins,dchez,Steeroids and daflake. I hope you find this thread as informative and entertaining as I have. Checked ASK this morning still saying 10/3 as complete date but Lydia is still in production. :impatient My wife and I have a bet on which boat she will be on, she has the Patriot leaving 10/13 arriving Charleston 10/25 snd 11/5 to the dealer. I say Jingu Maru 10/15-10/28 and 11/12.

Thanks guys!

I tried to use the Mini owners forum but was told that becuase I am buying in Germany, my VIN will not work until after the vehicle is made (US Spec). So, I can't track it...

No biggie, but it would have been nice.

I'm back! After having my JCW equipped order delayed twice, I decided Wednesday to drop it and my dealer changed me to an earlier slot. I just got off the phone with ASKMINI and my car is now scheduled for October 2-10 production, amazing how quick things can move when the dealer is on the ball! I have already come to terms with the missing JCW, I will save almost $6000 ($6300-500 for LSD, and less in sales tax). I can always have it dealer installed later, or aftermarket mods, or maybe perfectly happy with it in stock form, who knows. Glad to be back on the "hope to have it by Thanksgiving" crew.

Question?

I was told that I am production week 40 and that production will begin Oct 3rd. However, I see folks posting about paint and completion by Oct 3rd. So which is it?

Our production started 9/22 and our completion date is 10/3. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, the way I understand it is the week your car is finished is your production week. So if your MINI is finished production from 10/2-10/8 you are week 40.

Finally!

I was starting to get frustrated reading about many others receiving VINs and getting bumped up for production (some of whom placed their order over two weeks after I did), and the Lounge just gave me a VIN today and said that I am scheduled for production. All I can say right now is yee haw!

That would make sense to me. Unfortunetly I am in Germany and can't use my VIN to log into the Owners lounge to check the vehicle status. It seems that they use a different VIN for US spec cars bought overseas. Anyway, if that is the case, I could have my car in two weeks depending on shipping and customs.

I plugged my VIN into the Global shipping website today and it showed my MINI (as yet unnamed) booked on the Integrity, which appears to not be leaving Southhampton until 10-20-05 with arrival in Charlestown on 11/3/05. So it looks like mid November delivery at the earliest.DRB

I used the first link shown in post #99 to get the ship and voyage number, then went to the second link to get detailed information based on the voyage number.

My VIN still doesn't show up on Wallenius Wihelmsen's website. Did a little digging back on the week 36 thread, looks like us west-coasters may be on an entirely different line. For example, starting with post #153:

I used the first link on #99 and my VIN, it says info not found. When is or was your completion date.
