It still looks like Icarus will be completed on the 10th which means it probably will be on the JINGU MARU on the 15th. Estimated at 13 days till it arrives to Charleston, SC. Who knows how long it takes to get to the dealership from there. All in all I'm estimating sometime the first week of Oct. so one more month...-sigh-

Maybe they are shipping all the 06s together... my mcs was done on 9/1... but still sitting at the port... According to the WW site, the ship to the west coast left today... next one is the 18th... (every 10 days)... so I hope I will be on that one... then from there I still have to get a boat to Hawaii....
looks the like end of Oct for me...

When I called the reps for a status check they said you get scheduled on a shop when you get to the port. Then when the ship arrives at Southhampton (its 2nd or 3rd stop) the cars scheduled get loaded until it's full. Then everyone scheduled on the boat after that boat get bumped to the next ship. I have a feeling many (if not most) of our east coasters won't actually make it on the Otello once it sets sail. I want to be wrong (which we will know tomorrow) but the rep said there were 'a lot' of cars waiting to be shipped before mine.
Tomorrow the otello-ians will know.

Thank you again for all the great information. Upon doing a little more research, it seems as if my MCS will be either on the Tagus departing SH on 9/28 or the Don Carlos departing on 10/18. Bummer that she missed the Carmen that left today. It seems as if it is a month trip to the port closest to Seattle.
Like my MA said though, I should be motoring by Thanksgiving.

Gr8Force looks like Red Ryder is trying for a quick get away on Otello the fraternal twins will just have to JINGU MARU

Whoa!! Can't hold the boat any longer. Looks like Red Ryder will have the cabin to himself. I'll see you when we get stateside.
Hey, Gr8Force, ever get to Highlands? Let's meet there sometime. I plan to be there some weekend in Oct. This was my home. I'll buy you a drink and let Red Ryder tell yours about the trip.

I've always wanted to see the Highlands but my 91 Accord (270k) just can't make that trip. Lemme get Icarus past the break in period and I'm game. And the beer? Make it a Newcastle and I'm definitley there!

I'm already cooling it down. I need to do the break-in also. It's a 5 hour drive, but I can break it up and not do all interstate. Will let you know when I can get there. Sounds like a good Atlanta MINI trip to see the colors.

My car is ready and also on the Otello ship, destination New York. Hmm, it's suppose to goto Massachusetts...
I guess there's no docks in Boston.
Another 1 month wait

You mean the Highlands is a five hour trip for you? I thought that's what it would be for me!

The OL website and 1-866 number says my car is "Awaiting Transportaion". So it looks like they are both now in sync.
I think the car will probably arrive at my dealer in the first week of Oct as expected. 26 more days!!

And Icarus is in the paint shop. Scheduled to be completed this Sat. I'm catching up to the rest of you!

Highlands is 5 hours with a passenger. That mean's "where are we going to eat?" & "let's stop at the next rest area". I think she has been hired by the State as a Rest Stop Inspector.

Hey, Sagworks, looks like I was right behind you. Red Ryder loaded at 12:23. From what information I have the boat leaves the dock at 21:30 UK time (which according to my calculation is 4:30 EDT). If I have time I will watch it on radar.

It could be that our (I'm a West Coaster as well) MINIs will get shipped with a different line. I know I missed the Carmen, and I'm not entirely sure if I'm on a WW boat because my VIN hasn't worked with their tracking site.Originally Posted by roehrigs01

My VIN didn't work until this morning when they loaded it.
Loaded on Vessel 08/09/2005 10:10
Received at Terminal 05/09/2005 09:00Booked 05/09/2005 08:26
Snuck in front you the rest of you
Unloading in Charleston on the 22nd then the trip up to Michigan.
The other shipper is www.KLine.com but tracking is another thing.
Minibot, Try searching WW for departure port of Southampton and put your arrival port in for West coast.

Same thing here. My MINI finished production on 9/5 and the OL now says "Awaiting Transport." I hope it gets on a boat soon! I'm in LA and will probably be on the same boat with you guys. And I cant get any results on the WW tracking page with my VIN.

Looks like I might have missed the boat. WW tracking still says "at terminal" with no "loaded" message. I was hoping the message just wasn't updated, but if some of you have "loaded" messages already I might be out of luck.

Yep - I missed the boat. My Cooper is now scheduled to be on the Jingu Maru. 6 extra days to wait...

Icarus has been completed. He'll probably be in South Hampton come Monday or Tuesday and on Jingu Maru. ASK MINI estimates that I'll probably see him the first weekend of October! Woo Hoo!

Hey Gr8Force,
Missing Otello may not have been so bad after all. Right now it is Otello vs Maria. I never thought that I would be concerned about a North Atlantic huricane. Weather Channel just advised that North Atlantic shipping should be concerned about this storm. Hold on, Red Ryder.

I called ASK MINI and they said Week 36 is definitely the first production week for the 06 models. I also asked how long it would be until we took delivery and they said that can really vary upon a great many factors (weather, distance to your dealer, customs, etc.). I'm in the Atlanta, GA metro and the rep said I could see mine by the first one or two weeks of October. Just in time for some great convertible driving weather!
I hope everyone has a smooth process, a wonderful working car and a great experience but just in case...we're "hear" for you.

Well, you got me by a month. . . . my production week for my 2006 MCS JCW is 3 Oct 2005. Becasue I'm working and living here in Germany right now my dealer said I could expect to be driving my new wheels by he end of October; the first part of November at the latest. I hope he's right. I'm as excited as a kid waiting for Christmas.
What color did you order? I got the Space Blue (full body color ~ no two-tone, no strips). I can hardly wait to get behiend the wheel. . . . . :impatient

csperry - Congrats on your MINI! It's an exciting time for everyone. If you look at my signature "06MCSC, HO/blue" you can see that Icarus is a MINI Cooper S Cabriolet that is Hot Orange Metallic with a blue roof. He'll also have the Premium, Sport & Cold packs. I threw in the LSD, exterior chrome, rain sensing wipers, rear fog light and the blue leather interior. No stinkin' stripes. Living in the South you see enough Trans AM's running around with General Lee stripes on that orange.

No thanks.
What are you going to name yours? Space Cowboy since it's Space Blue?
