I have a VIN!!!!

Just checking my OL and I have a VIN. Though my options are still not showing up. (went over them with the rep though). My status changed from 'on order' to 'scheduled for production'.

For not first timers, does the info like 'in paint shop' show up in the OL or only on the phone?

RE: Gr8Force

I need to get my signature set up listing my car's features. I haven't named it yet, but as soon as I decide a name, I'll let ya know.

As for a description, I'm getting:

MCS Space Blue/Silver Top. Premium/Cold Weather/Sport Packages, LSD, Chrono, all toggles.

I'm looking forward to it!!!

My MCS is also scheduled for production on the website OL with a vin number Today. Calling 1-866 and it says my car should complete on 9-6-2005. Looks like everything is on scheduled for first week of Oct pickup.

Looks like all of us are on the same page. My OL status also got updated this evening to 'Scheduled for Production.' But once again, no specs. But I have a VIN!

Damn now I wish I was still on the East coast...

Unfortunately we're not all on the same page. While I still have a scheduled production date of 09-05, OL still has me as "On Order" and ASK MINI does not have a VIN on me. I've asked the "why" questions but all I get is "dunknow".

That's funny. I have a 2006 SB/Silver MCS on order, and they told me they'd start building Miles August 29, finishing up estimated Sept 2nd, so it looks like I might be week 35. That conflicts with what a lot of people are saying about 36 being the first group.

The only thing I do know is that I have a VIN, and I have a 2006 SB/S.

minibot - You could very well be right about yours because I'm just going off what ASK MINI told me. As I've found out they really don't know anything more than what they're reading off their screens. Details of process or actual production are just as foreign to them as it is to us. So when they told me that week 36 is the first production week for 06's ... that could easily be wrong. Still congrats on your Coop! Whatcha' gonna name it?

I see I am as observant as ever!

They may start and end their build weeks on a day other than a Monday or Sunday. You could be in the same week since no one else on this thread has reported a scheduled production date any later than the 6th. Just guessin'

No doubt about it now. Icarus will definitely not begin the build process (enter the "birth canal") until 9-05. So for me the scheduled for production date is the starting date for construction. I imagine they'll be able to give me a finish date shortly thereafter along with VIN and a bunch of other info. -as he dances in place like a little boy that's gotta go-

Since we are all getting it around October. Anyone going to wax or apply zaino to their car before the winter snow comes? If you live where it doesn't snow, I guess this doesn't really apply to you.

I had previously been told by the dealer that my 2006 Pepper White MCC would begin production in "early September". Yesterday I called ASK-MINI and they told me the build already started August 22nd and will be completed this Friday September 2nd!

It doesn't really snow here but I know some folks in the AtlantaMINI's club use Zaino anyway. Why? I guess it's because they really care about their MINI looking it's best.

I don't know much, but I do know that my '06 started at 6:08 (confirmed by ASK MINI and dealer) on 8/25. According to MINI it will complete production on 9/6. At that point it appears to be about a one month wait. The only good thing is that it started about 2 weeks early.

Yay for the Sept 2nd finishers.

I called ASK-MINI and they said Miles went through the paint shop yesterday.

ASK MINI & OL Don't Know *****

ASK MINI is frustrating in that they give conflicting and inconsistent information!

I put a call into my MA this early afternoon but had to leave a voicemail. No prob. By the time I left work, 6 p.m., I still had not received a call. I'm pretty laid back so I figured he'd just call me the next day since they also close at 6. Wrong! He was still working and called me at 8pm! I heard great stuff about MINI Global Imports and this just continues to back that up. Great job guys!

Well, I've been getting poor information from ASK MINI so I thought I'd see what my MA had. He told me that Icarus is already in production! and that it looked like it would finish up on Monday! I told him what ASK MINI and OL said about Icarus and he said that he was looking right at the production database. Icarus will be finished Monday! Woo Hoo!!!

Whew! That helps.

Surprising to see that ask-mini and OL would have a different database than the dealer. 1 more month to wait. I've been waiting 3 weeks since I placed my order. this month will pass by slooowly..
maybe I should just play Gran Turismo 4 while I wait.

I asked ASK MINI and my MA about that. They all (including OL) get their information from the same db but the timing of the release of that info is the difference. ASK MINI & OL get updates pushed out to them at different times. Your MA accesses the db directly with the latest info!

Icarus is finished Monday!!!

Yah - Icarus is born!

Congrats - you had to know you were the same as the others - you had the same preliminary info. I agree with you about the ask mini reps not having all the info - they said so on the phone today. they are very nice, and easier to get ahold of than my MA (long distance - work and no cell phone signal problem)

Congrats again!

Yup, very conflicting reports...

On Jul 24th I called ASK MINI and was told that production started on my 06 that morning. Today I call and was told that it would not begin production till Mon, Sep 5th...and the rep said that is when the 06s start production. And then it would take 4-5 days to build, so estimated completion date is Sep 10th. Sigh... no idea what the status is...

It's weird. The OL has only my VIN, and production number, but it never listed my requested options. Do any of you have that situation as well?

It definitely takes a bit longer to update, I've noticed. When I called them up this afternoon, they told me my MINI rolled off the production line this morning, but the OL still reports: 'Scheduled for Production'.

Pffft! My MA says I even have a VIN but OL says Icarus is still "On Order".

Call your MA if they're any good. Mine is!

Icarus just got promoted at the OL going from "On Order" to "Scheduled for Production". Time from actually placing the order at my dealership to OL stating "on order": 6 days. Time spent at On Order status: 35 days.
