Supporting Member question

OK, so these forums aren't free to run. Who "owns" it? Is there a "supporting membership" available?

Just a guess but I figure the Vendor's contribute a wee bit in order for them to advertise here.

Mark Ferguson (mferguson) is the owner/founder of NorthAmericanMotoring.com (NAM), originally known as MiniCooperOnline.com (MCO).

It is supported by vendor ads and through sales of NAM-related items in the NAM storefront.

Hope that helps.

NAM has choosen not to offer "premium memberships" like other MINI related sites.

All of NAM's features are available to every member, as opposed to other sites with offer some features only to paying members...

To have a third moderator jump in here NAM will always be free to members. It was founded by Mark Ferguson in March of 2002 and operates with the support of the vendors you see advertising on the site.

That said, there are plans to offer a premium membership level, but like other sites, it will be totally optional and will only offer additional services. You won't see features that are free now being restricted to premium members (i.e. your current usage of the site will continue as it has been and will remain free, but if you want expanded features, that would cost something).

I would expect that to be ready late this Summer.

Well thank you Mark and ALL the admins. This is a great (and VERY informative) site. It is made even greater that the contributions from advertisers pays for it!

Just didn't want to be a freeloader!
