Monte Carlo Historique Rally 2005
Monte Carlo Historique Rally 2005
Hi Everyone.
I've just found this forum. I own and rally a 1965 classic Mini Cooper S which lives in England (I live in Seattle: it's a long story -don't ask.)
In January this year I competed for the second time on the Monte Carlo Historque rally as part of the reformed Cooper Car Co. My driver was Bill Richards the well known A series engine tuner and Mini circuit racer as well as long time friend.
If anyone is interested I've written a detailed blog of the event which has lots of cool photos. It's in 10 parts, so settle down with cup of coffee and click here: http://self-preservationsociety.blog...llye-2005.html
Feedback (preferably polite) is most welcome.

Great photos. Hope to see more later.

Hi Earl and MINI D
Glad you liked the article. I'll be back.
We've got to do this event again next year. It really is amazing. I'll be posting on our prelim plans shortly. Believe me it takes 6-9 months to plan this.

Well I can certainly recommend the event. It's probably the best historic rally in the world. 350 classic cars competing for four days on the best rally roads anywhere. And Minis can duke it out on equal terms with much more powerful machinery. It's something you should do at least once in a lifetime.
