Prospective buyer in CA. 1st post

Hey everyone. Well my girlfriend is in the process of buying a MCS in the near future and was looking for some advice. We were wondering if it was possible to get one under msrp or even at msrp. If not whats the markup everyone is paying. Also for those in Bay Area CA what dealership do you reccomend going to. Thanks ahead for everyone help and input.

Just depends on how bad you want it? BMW of Mt View has April allocations......with delivery end of May/June but you will pay $2500 over MSRP.

I am not very patient but you might be.

You will have to decide how long you want to wait.
The longer you wait the closer to MSRP you will pay.
Most of the dealerships are great. I had good expierences at both Mtn Veiw and SF when buying my MINI. They are very matter of fact at what they charge and tell you that if you want to wait longer go to east bay and pay less.
I bought mine at Mtn Veiw and am happy with them.. I could not wait since my car had died and needed something right away So I sucked it up and paid for one off the floor. But if you can stand waiting almost a year for your car... go for it.

There is also the out of State option. Both MINI of the Hamptons (NY) and Classic MINI (OH) have done a lot of business in California. You have to pay shipping (~$1000), but MOTH usually has a 'special' $500 credit toward shipping. In the end you still save $1500-$2000 on a MCS.

There are others as well (Utah, Illinois, Missouri?) but the above are the best known.

Here in Indy, I have cars that I could ship within days- Or of course you can order what it is that you would like. Pay MSRP and get what you wants alot quicker!

Buying mine in Southern Cal at MSRP from South Bay Mini.

I do not know what the wait is now (since I do keep posting about them when asked) but I think it is March or April production.

Good luck!

I checked out Mtn. View and called, East Bay, SF, Concord and Sacramento - all had dealer mark-ups of $2500 or more plus long waits. Did some web surfing and ended up ordering from MOTH (Hamptons in NY) for no mark-up and only $500 to ship here (San Jose) with a Feb. build/March delivery. Couldn't pass up the savings or the reduced waiting! Mike Dito is my man at MOTH.

We went with East Bay MINI and were lucky to get our order in production sooner than we thought-- barely a three month wait versus the five to six we were geared up for. We ordered an MCC, which had the shortest wait time of all the models. We paid MSRP and had a really good experience.

I know the wait for the S can be brutal. Good luck to you!

Go to Mini of Murray in Salt Lake. No hassles, no mark-ups above MSRP, wait time to order is about a month (although they will tell you longer, under-promise, over deliver). You can buy a one way ticket from Southwest for $39 to pick it up, and enjoy the ride back !

Just a suggestion.

Moritz Mini in Texas

I ordered my Cabrio from Moritz in Arlington with no wait and MSRP. They had no "surprises" upon delivery. We flew out to get it and had a great road trip back. Hit 1250 miles on a lonely stretch of backroads in Arizona and definitely got way over 4500rpms and 90mph top down. South Bay Mini has a boatload of Cabrios on the lot. MSRP but usually with LoJack and Polyshield they are trying to add a couple of grand. I'd only do straight MSRP and go out of state. In the past everyone raved about Classic Mini in Ohio. Good luck and get motorin' whatever the cost!!!!

Just fyi, when you order the car through them there are no add-ons, just MSRP for what you get.

That's cool and I imagine they don't have a wait right now?
