NAM newbie - proud new owner of a MINI

Hello everyone, I just wanted to take this chance to introduce myself.

I'm Paul - 23, and a car fanatic. I have been checking out this site for about 2-3 months, but haven't joined yet. So here we go. I recently became the proud owner (12/23/04) of a '05 MCS. Jet Black w/ White Roof/mirrors, and i traded up for the base 5 star MC wheels (also in white). Have Convenience and Perfromance Packages, with the H/K stereo and rear fog lights. I also had my MINI dealer give me the amber side reflectors instead of the clear - to be a little different than everyone else :p

I also own a 2001 PT Cruiser, and a 1991 Honda CRX Si. the PT has Xenon Body kit, and Borla dual exhaust. had 17" enkei rims for it, but sold them, in the hopes of getting some 18" Foose wheels in the future. the PT is very close to me - it was my first new car, and I enjoy having an "odd" car.

My CRX is my pride and joy project car. I had a black CRX, and then wrecked it, then found a donor car, and used any old parts from the original, and got some parts in from Japan. so it's a mix of stock US CRX, and JDM CRX parts, to make something unique and mine.

So that's a little about me. I'm really enjoying my MCS, and it's been a blast to drive so far, and I'm very happy with my purchase. Eager to meet and post/chat with all of you. On that note, i will post some pics of my cars

MCS

(that's my gf's RSX)

will post pics of the other cars in a new post

Welcome! My '86 CRX Si was one of my favorite cars. I'd probably still have it if some punk kid hadn't turned his mom's Hyundai in front of me.

Paul,

Welcome to NAM and congrats on your new MCS can't remember seeing a black/white before (except in my rearview mirror ). It looks good with the white wheels and white top.

thanks everyone for the kind welcome. yes, it is quite a stable for someone at my age. it's funny between my and my gf we have 5 cars between us. PT, CRX, MINI, RSX, and another CRX (it's like his and hers almost :P ) That red Honda hatchback you see was also mine, but i sold it to a friend so i could get the MCS.

Yeah, i myself can't think of many black and white combo'd MCS out there. I found one off google images search, but it was not an S like mine. looked exactly the same other than not the S. I'm very impressed by how quick this car really is, and how well it just feels overall.

Squirlz: sorry to hear about your CRX. i lost my original black one to an 89 RamCharger, but vowed to bring it back.. and you see that in the pics i posted already. that was a 2 year project right there, and I'm glad to be "done" with it (they're never REALLY done :P)

It was one of the reasons why I bought the MCS, is i wanted something that was awesome "right out of the box" and it has fulfilled that task beatifully so far. I didn't really want/need another project car right now, since me and the gf are trying to get a place to live. Thanks for the warm invitation everyone

i call the NorthEast US home. I live in Maryland. Parkton, MD to be exact. it's about 20-25 min north of baltimore, and about 10 min south of the MD/PA line. right now it's VERY cold and we have some snow on the ground with more on the way. not too thrilled, but the good news is - i can have some winter fun (aka donuts) with the MINI

Okay Now!

If you're doing donuts you MUST buy a vacu-cam! Even with the stable of cars you have you need a Vacu-cam! I would really like to see some footage of someone doing sonuts in the snow! So go see Octane guy in the photo thread and see what he has for sale!

Welcome aboard my friend! Very nice MINI... If you happen to be looking for a great club back there, check out www.dcmetrominis.org. They also have a forum here on NAM - pretty active club..

We moved to CA from that area (VA) a year ago - great friends we left back there...

Chow!

Donna/Mike: thanks for the info. I may check it out. I was thinking about joining a PT club a while ago, but i didnt really like the "air" those people gave. But you guys seem a lot cooler, so i may check out this club. thanks

Wow, that's a gigantic lawn! Have you considered the MINI lawnmower attachment?

I also had an '86 CRX Si (black) and loved it, until it spontaneously combusted and burned to the ground in my driveway one night! I'm not kidding...
