Full shock/spring assembly

Hello again - I live in VT USA and to say that the roads are bad here is an understatement. Time, cruel winters, and the occasional pothole finally lead to one of my shock springs breaking on my 2012 Countryman SALL4. I have replaced shocks and springs previously on a 2003 VW Passat, and during that job I elected to compress the springs with spring compressors that use the two bolts and grabbers that you ratchet down and felt moments away from setting of a grenade in my workshop. I would like to avoid that feeling during this suspension job, so my question is: is there a safer way of compressing springs or are there any full shock/spring assemblies that are an upgrade from OEM? I'm not necessarily looking to lower the Mini because of the terrible roads up here but any suggestions would be super helpful!

Curious if you ever got a response to this question. I have the same car. Cant find parts to save my ***. No one has parts for the R60. I wanted a complete kit, everything mounted and ready to go. No coil over, just factory set up

Check out Monroe QuickStruts. They come as a full assembly, springs included. I run them on my MC40 and I couldn't be happier with them.

Good to know! Thanks for the tip, finding things have been difficult recently.
