Feeback S. Techs and Stagg Struts.

I have purchased S. Tech springs and Stagg Struts for my 2005 mini cooper S. I wanted to know if anybody has used S. Tech springs or Struts and how did they perform.

Springs:
Duribility?
Tire rub issues?
Effect chamber?
Drop?
Handling compared to oem springs?
How does it drive 70+?

Struts:
How Long have you had them?
Duribility?

I know this is old but any news/input? I'm considering the same setup.

I can't speak for this exact setup, but I can speak for OEM replacement shocks and lowering springs. I tried the Bilstein B4 shocks with TSW lowering springs myself. With only a .75" drop on the TSWs it was spine shattering to drive around on normal roads so I can't imagine any other OEM equivalent shocks with even lower springs being any better.

As far as handling goes, I would say it was good but I would attribute that to the springs more than the shocks considering it was basically the same thing as riding on blown shocks at that point.

Maybe someone more knowledgeable about suspension will chime in but to me it would seem simply putting lowering springs on blown shocks would have the same affect as putting OEM shocks on, since they will have no travel anyways. So I would save and just get the right suspension the first time.

If we are talking Tein S tech, I'd advise against. The S stands for Style. They are nothing but lowering springs. I had them on an 86 Rx7, they sagged after a year of use to the point of blowing my struts and causing clearacne and rubbing issues. They were pretty soft too. Softer than the 20 year old stock springs.

If all you are worried about is lowering then skip this setup and get some 500 dollar ebay coilovers.

I cannot comment on the struts, I don't know anything about the brand.

Thanks folks, I'm not quite sure the route I'll go. I don't need the adjustability of coilovers and was looking for a shock/strut with a lowering spring that is somewhat tame for daily driving. Not looking to go very low, just to get rid of the wheel gap.

I would definitely recommend the Koni yellows and TSW springs then. Only a .75" drop so it's definitely not a huge drop. At the very least I would recommend the yellows with whatever spring you do choose.
