My first Mini Cooper, Jules, a 2009 Hot Chocolate Clubman

His name is Jules, has 128k KM, I exchanged it for my 2018 VW Golf Sportwagen, which I loved, but it was too much car and since a work at home, too expensive to sit as a paper weight in my drive way for weeks at a time.

Jules had an oil drip from the pressure senor when I got him, so the 75km drive home was stressfull but it barely lost any oil. I already swapped out the sensor and changed his oil from 0w-20 to M1 0w-40 with a can of Liquimoly Ceratec (I live by this stuff as it took my Chrysler Crossfire from 100k KM to 300k KM over the course of 6 years with no motor issues, all I did was change the Oil and the car kept going).

Today a taped up the holes in the air intake muffler to get some more growl from the intake and have started to look for new summer wheels and winter tires. The stock 17 in the pic will become my winter wheels, I have a while to find my summer wheels, looking for a set of enkie's (RPF1s especially). After that I will most likely swap out the stock muffler for a Flowmaster HP-2.

I first drove along in a mini a long time ago, when I was 12 and my dad brought home a development R53 from Chrysler (Tritec motor alliance member). I fell in love, but never thought about buying one because a loved RWD too much, so my first car I purchased myself was a Crossfire (Ok i know....) and then a 2005 Mercedes C230 Sport with a manual transmission (what a car!), then the first Kid came along and it was time to get a responsible adult car, hence the VW Sportwagen (4 Motion Highline) It was my first Turbo car and it was a great commuter and somewhat nice to drive in the backroads, but I really didn't notice how lackluster every sensation was in that car until I drove my Mini again. They say slow car fast is better, but if the slow car is extremely nimble, dynamic and a hoot to drive, this statement is 100% true. I haven't taken it to the backroads yet, but I can't imagine how much it will come alive when I do.

Car looks great! Hood stripes look a bit faded, but that gives you the opportunity to change them for your own personality. You’ll find some good information here, so read and research!

Yea, they are very worn out, I was thinking of taking them off completely but the colors may not match underneath, I will try searching for replacements but I do prefer the no strip look

If you decide OEM replacement, the OEM stripe part numbers are:
- 51147281517 (Left)
- 51147281518 (Right)

It would also look good with the OEM Black/White stripes:
- 51147281513 (Left)
- 51147281514 (Right)

Looks great! Hot Chocolate on Hot Chocolate is the rare interior / exterior color combo. Whats the interior?
