Hello all! First time Mini buyer here. Now an owner of an 08 R55 S in Hot Chocolate, with the brown leather interior. So far love the car. Paid $5k and bought from a guy that purchases and fixes gen 2 Mini's. All the major problem areas that I know of were fixed including timing chain, gaskets, and coils among other things. I've spent the last two days fixing the minor things left (foggy headlights, not working 12v power in the front and a few other things). I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty, and look forward to getting to know you all.

 

welcome to the forum. If everything thing was done, keep up on your oil levels and have fun, I check every time I get gas. Change oil at least every 5000. Plenty of n14 woes here.

 

Thank you for the warm welcome, set a reminder for every 4,500 miles. When I first took it home, I changed the oil with royal purple to get things started with the every 4,500. So far it's been a blast. After seeing them on the road for years, and wondering why int he world people would want one, I can see why. They are so much fun!

Over the years, I've primarily been a Toyota/Lexus driver and was always hesitant to step over to the German side of things. But so far, I love the driving style.

Yes I do, and I just ordered the Hot Chocolate brake handle, Schwaben Scan tool, and rear wipers from ECS Tuning.

 

Awesome, just going to tell you about the huge deal we have on the HC handle and e-brake boot. I think i might get it from my R58, but i have a polar beige interior. So it might be out of place.

That Auto shift handle looks nice as well, Will have to get those later.. Brakes first.
