New guy, in East TN!

Hey ya’ll! New guy here, but not new to cars... I recently picked up an ‘05 Mini R50. I’m excited to learn the ins and outs of these little beasts!

I’m a DIY kinda guy, and have a few projects on the list, as this gal wasn’t taken care of very well, especially the interior.
I’ve already read a bunch of DIY threads, and have noticed this is a strong community, that’s awesome!

Welcome

Awesome looking “Justa”!

Ive had my 2005 R50 just a Cooper (get it? just a Cooper.....Justa)since new, yes 15 years! Still in love with this car. Eastern Tennessee? That seems like you might be near the Dragon? Hope to see you down there sometime. Happy to chat about mods to R50. Drive fast, take chances!

Welcome to the family. My parents live in Sevierville, and we are planning on a trip down next weekend. We will be on the dragon and Devil’s Triangle for sure at least one if not 2 of the days.

Hey, thanks y’all! I’m working with getting some safety items sorted, before making the pilgrimage to the Dragon! It’s about 45 mins from me!

My hunt right now is for Seats. My drivers bolster is torn up bad, and they are stained nasty. I’d love to find a nice set to just swap out. I did find a car on marketplace, local, but the people must be mentally challenged, as they only respond every few days or so, and often don’t address the question I asked.... Which mainly has been “can I come see the car on X day, in the morning?”..... I’ll get a response from that, two days after “X day” with “sure”. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Anywho, drive safe, and keep it between the Mayo and the Mustard!

Good looking MINI. While you're in there, check the RSB. If it's OEM you'll want to replace it with a heavier adjustable one for when you head over to Deal's Gap.

Plenty of seats on the EBay, but shipping is Very cost prohibitive..... I’m searching for a parts car locally, hoping to find one with clean interior. 🤷🏾‍♂️

I’m planning on being down that way this Saturday. I know it’s the 4th, but The dragon needs to see some mini love.
