Lonely Syracuse Mini Owner
Lonely Syracuse Mini Owner
Well, I thought I'd do the "right thing" and introduce myself, (even though I've made well over 20 posts already).
I own an '04 MCS, electric blue/black roof and stripes, with all 3 packages. I've also added an Alta intake and rally style light bar.
Living in Syracuse, smack-dab in the center of New York State, I am in the unfortunate position of being 130 miles from 2 different dealerships at either end of the state--Towne Mini in Buffalo, and another dealership in Albany.
Servicing "Vanessa" as I call her, is quite inconvenient, but luckilly both my wife and I have family in the Buffalo area, so we're back that way at least once a month, more during the summer. But I pray for Vanessa to remain healthy... so far, so good, except that recall I have to go in for in 2 weeks.
But being so far from a dealer has other drawbacks. It also means that I rarely see other Minis. They're quite rare around here. (On the plus side, that coincidentally means that my MCS is new to people here; a real head-turner, which my ego likes a lot!)
Not much of a chance to start a Central New York Mini club yet, but I'm secretly hoping that MINIUSA opens a dealership here, which would bring more Mini owners out of the woodwork.
Anyway, thanks for reading. I have pictures up in my profile, if you're interested. Talk to you soon.

That's the great thing about NAM...at least its SOME way to interact with other MINI owners. Perhaps you'll find a cool motoring event to attend one of these days.
I get to our local club meeting occasionally and it's like some weird parallel MINI universe. There are MINIs everywhere...usually about 30 or so...and every one is different! One can look and point and gawk to your heart's content, and then, when it's over, you drive off, hit the highway and........bam........no more MINIs. Just countless bland-mobiles as far as the eye can see. My MINI is one of the more sedate ones at our local MINI club events, but its the coolest car around in my neighborhood....its a rare day when I see another MINI on the road.

Well, I know this post is now over 4 years old, but I found it as I was searching 'Syracuse Mini Cooper'
Well we could start a club with 2 minis in it!
Anyway, I'm new on this forum, and I just bought a 02 Mini Cooper S JCW Dark Gray with white top.
Wave if you see me!

Well, you're not exactly neighbors with either of these, but you might find some folks from your part of the world in either place:
MINI Club of Western NY

TIERMINI

Good luck; maybe we'll see you around sometime!

(I've never gotten the edit feature to work w/o double-posting...)
Anyway, didn't realize this was a (mostly) old thread, but maybe the info will come in handy for the recent poster.

Well, hello to both and welcome to the new member. I'm also in North Carolina (Durham area) and we also have the same problem here, no dealerships around, (we do have Performance BMW in Chapel Hill, but they don't deal with MINI's), so my only choice is Flow MINI in Winston-Salem, not so close.
Hi, I'm in Utica, NY, about an hour from Syracuse. I also wish we had a dealer in CNY. I am a former 2004 MCS owner, with a Clubman on order (kid), and I drive to Albany both to buy and service. The drive gets old. I actually see a fair number of MINIs around here and at the school (Hamilton) where I teach.
