introduction...

Hello everyone, my name is Yannick and i am in Tacoma, Washington. We are picking up our first ever Mini this Tuesday and looking forward to it! We have many other cars (we are a car family), mostly German, from as early as 1963 to 2006. We have been wanting the coveted R53 for a long time and this one just seemed to be the right one for us and we are ready for it. It is a 2003 Cooper S with just over 119,000 miles on the clock, just 2 previous owners.

There was mods done to the car by the first owner already which i was told was a very big Mini enthusiast. The 2nd owner has owned it for now 8 years and she has done all the maintenance outside of course of the coveted supercharger one, which will be the first one i get done.

Here is the list of current mods;

• Borla Cat Back Exhaust
• Intake with K&N Air Box
• Alta 15% Supercharger Pulley
• Alta Rear Sway Bar
• M7 Strut Tower Plates
• Detroit Tuned ByPass Valve
• Power Steering Fan Cover
• Shorty Antennae
• Rear Seat Pull Straps
• Rear Boot Box
• Spare S-Lite Factory Wheel with Tire Mounted
• Factory Euro Parcel Shelf under steering column
• Glove Box Organizer
• Center Console Cubby
• Chrome Handbrake Handle
• Cowl Vent Grill Upgrade
• Rear Fog Lamps

Please let me know if i should replace some of those mods or add to them to make the car perform better and be better all the way around! I was told that the open air box/filter was not the best idea for those cars due to heat and it is better to run a closed air box. Is that correct?

Anyways, thank you for you time and I am looking forward on meeting and talking to some of you and asking a bunch of question so i can start figuring out this car a little more intimately!

Yannick

Hey someone in my neighborhood!!
Im a bit north in Marysville.
welcome to the forum!
If you are interested, there is a pretty large enthusiast club up here, and the membership not only gets you in with a great group of people with Mini’s, we have monthly donut and coffee meets, along with club drives.
Also the membership gets you a discount on parts and service at both Mini dealerships, as well as several club sponsors, some of which are vendors here.
If you are interested look is up: PSMINI: the Puget Sound Mini Motoring Club. https://psmini.wildapricot.org/

Thank you for the welcome. My sister and my brother live in the Mill creek area, so not too far from you! I am definitely interested in checking out the club. I have been a car enthusiast my whole life, as is my girlfriend and our boys as well! I am a big VW/Audi guy and belong to a couple of groups and entering the Mini scene would be awesome to meet some of you guys and start learning more about this great little car for sure. I am kind of hooked on it i can't lie lol. I will look up PSMINI a.s.a.p. Thanks for letting me know!
