Welcome to NAM
Fun
It took me about a week to learn how to get out of first gear without stalling. But deciding to get a manual even though I didn't know how to drive a stick was probably the best decision I have ever made. My new 2006 MCS has been a blast so far and I'm sure it will only get better as I get more comfortable driving a stick. And I love the sounds that it makes. Question though. Why is the dash that came with my MCS called "Seven"? It only has 6 circles. Thanks for having me!
Hello all!
Seasons Greetings.
Have had my 06 Astro Black MCS w/JCW , known as "RDNZL", since September 22nd. It's got 4700 miles on her know and it just keeps getting better. In Middletown New Jersey and would love to hear from other owners from the area.
Best regards
Mr. Jim

Popped in to say "Hello"
Its been just about a month since I picked up my new "Spacey" blue '06 MCS. I opted not to put many options on her, felt that it was quite well equipped from the start, not interested in making it faster (Already did the drag thing with a 12 second '70 Cougar Class II bracket car) just want good dependability, gas mileage, great looks, and the ability to get out of my own way. So I got the S-lites, the stripes, premium pkg, armrest, fogs (F&R) and alarm.
So far all is good except I seem to notice more dump trucks and construction vehicles in front of me spilling rocks and dirt and then there are buttheads riding my bum......what the heck is the hurry ? Its one thing to go fast on a winding country road but another to ride someones bum through a residential street with kids playing
Maybe they need Minis so they'll enjoy the ride
Anyway, enough, off the soapbox now, sore subject as you can see.
Looking forward to hooking up with the DC mini crowd sometime, will be joining first of the year, spent all my pennies on Wensleydale and Christmas
Cheers,
Mike

Hello from Myrtle Beach SC
Hi,
I just joined this forum . I found it when I was looking for some info about oil changes. I bought a 2003 Mini about 4 months ago. I put alot of miles on it already. Great little car. I didn't need a new car when I bought it. I had a 2005 Vibe that I had bought new, but I liked this car so much I decided to trade. I drive back and forth from SC to NY about once a month. I've also taken it to Kentucky and had it ripping around some windy mountain roads.
Next month my wife and I will take it to Crystal River Florida to swim with the Manatees.
I'm curious to see if there are any 200000 miles and up vehicles out there. I love mine and want to keep it for a long time.

Welcome minimk3 and sccoast1700! I don't even have my mini yet, and I've found this site to be one of the most useful places to find out whatever you need to know. Everyone is friendly and willing to give advice and encouragement! You'll love it here!
Just joined the forum, looks very cool. The mini is 05 silver/black, and its pretty much my wifes ride. I have been know to get the mini sideways whenever I drive it, man are they fun cars (i.e. racecars) to drive!
Hey there everyone. I've had my mini for about a year now and I just need some people to turn to for advise. Most of the people at the shops are trying to sell you whatever they got. This is the first form that I've signed up too.. so here it goes...
hi folks,
new here too...and a new MINI owner!...just got my new 06 pepper white with blk top and stripes, blk 17" tsw wheels...i'm loving it even tho it's only been a few days. my wife totally loves the car.
almost ordered the new 07, but found this classic look just too good to beat! (besides wasnt fond of the 07 interior, kind of buck rogers???)...anyhow, they'll probably grow on me and i'll wish to have another one!
cheers!

Howdy...am ALMOST a new MINI owner if I can just overcome the last gasp of cold feet. Have a deposit on an 06 MCS SB/S and need to pull the trigger soon before my MA kicks me to the curb. Having some commitment problems...struggling with ditching the confort, smoothness and jr. luxury to be found in the E46 BMW 325i sedan. It's not a milk-toast ride by any means but I still find myself longing for the MINI and not wanting to miss out on the R53.
So here I sit on the fence and am hoping some of you help shove me over the brink. I need the push!! I love these cars!!!

welcome everybody!
eromitlab, I think you already convinced yourself by your own words, "...It's not a milk-toast ride by any means but I still find myself longing for the MINI and not wanting to miss out on the R53. ...". The 2006 R53 is already one of kind in it's own generation. How can you miss out on the last model of the history making first generation MINI?

You've got a point there, allenski..
I never understand why this turns into such a stressful thing. I've never been hosed by a car purchase, save for the time I bough a 97 Honda Accord from a Carmax. So shouldn't be stressing about $$$. Wife has a family-oriented car so kid hauling won't be a problem (and is clearly not a problem in the MINI anyway if you are patient and know what you're signing up for). My wife basically said "do whatever you want" which I can either choose to interpret literally, or as "I'll kill you if you buy that damn thing!!!" (she likes the Bimmer esp. for trips
But yeah, in my own mind I am there, motoring daily...

A Happy Mini Named Agnes
Hello everyone,
My name's Timmy and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. Just got my new Astro Black/White Top Mini and am positively in love with her. She purrs like a kitten and scampers like nobody's business. I'm definitely in love. The best thing so far though has been that sort of smirk and nod from other Mini owners when you pass them. I'd love to hear about people's other experiences!

Finally Received!
Received my MINI last Thursday at the dealership here in Bahrain. 8 whole miles on it when I got it. I LOVE IT! I don't have a name for it yet, but am working on that. I can't wait to get it back in VA and add a few "extras" to it (like rims, a roof design, the chrome bonnet scoop, driving lights,...) just to name a few. I can't say it enough....I LOVE THIS CAR!
