Greetings from Wisconsin

Hi All. Great to find a forum like this. Just picked up my first MCS (2005) after brooding over the idea for a couple of years... mine came up at a local dealership here in Wisconsin and I couldn't resist... winter wheelset and all. I look forward to finding some great info!
Cheers

Just joined..

My wife drives an 09 CJW droptop and I just order an 10 CJW coupe. I got the coupe because I was simply amazed with how my wife's Mini drove.

New to Mini, too

Hello everyone. I just went to the Mini dealer last week in Columbus, OH, and traded in an old Lexus and a BMW on a new MCS. I love my new little car, and I have already travelled long distance in it. It looks like I have great opportunity to customize the car. I look forward to exploring my options.

Confession time - I first NAM'ed back in 2005 when I bought my 2005 Pepper White S. My enthusiasm never faulted and only an impulsive trade to a 2004 JCW S could seperate us. Now I'm like a kid in a lolly store all over again! My only problem is keeping the Jet Black paintwork "cool" as we swelter thru summer here in NZ.
And so I'm pleased to say I'm NAM'ing once more

Another MINI Newbie!

Hello All!

Just bought an '03 MINI 'S' and boy is it FUN to drive!
Might someone direct me to the proper forum with regard to this question:

At around 22 degrees Fahrenheit and below the transmission/linkage/shifter is frozen solid and will not come out of gear and into neutral prior to starting the engine. The engine will start however I must hold the clutch in about five minutes until the engine warms up and then the shifter will slowly allow me to pull the transmission out of first and into neutral. After engine is warm the car shifts normally.

Any suggestions as to what might be wrong?

Thanks!

_-CJRedMini

sticky shift at cold temps

Hi CJRedMini,

I was browsing Technical Service Bulletins on the older MINIs and i noticed that your problem is covered by a TSB. I think that means a free repair.

Cheers,

Hello to all, I signed up a couple days ago and have been researching the Mini for a while now especially in NAM. My fiancée and I are looking into getting a Camden MCS sometime this year to replace her '02 Civic. We are really excited to get the car, we already went to take a test drive and all, but we want to wait a bit before we order to make sure we get the new engine.
Happy Motoring everyone!!

Hello,

My wife and I purchased our 09 Cooper S spring of last year. I can't say I had ever thought of buying one but my wife thought they were cute which got me into the dealership and the acceleration of the S sold me. So far the experience has been a blast. I hope it stays that way!

Thanks for the reply dimosk!
I'll attempt to locate the TSB area on this site
or elsewhere. Thanks again.

Question: I've ordered a new vanity plate for my Mini and would like to change my username to reflect it. Is there a way to do that without having to re-register?

Also, how the heck to I get sweet pictures reflecting my Mini (displaying color, model, accessories) like all you veterans have?

Looks like I answered my own question... I was able to put in my Mini pic with my signature and finally read the "welcome to NAM" message I've had sitting in my mailbox for 6 months. Silly me

Hi All,

Very interested in Minis, on a budget, looking for an S with a stick that needs body or engine work; a green one ideally =) I'm in the Ventura CA area. I've heard that '05 & '06 are the best years to get, would appreciate any info or advice anyone could give. =)

Thanks,
