I just bought my first Mini and MC40

I am new to Mini and starting with somewhat of a project, a 2004 MC40. I plan on keeping it mostly "stock" with official modifications only (JCW upgrade). Sadly, my wife has already informed me that she will be stealing it once complete. Name and personality have yet to be determined....

Welcome to the MC40 club! The only JCW mod to a stock MC40 is the carbon-fiber dash. On my MC40 (#826) I'm running a Dinan Stage 1 tune, 15% underdrive SC pulley and a mild exhaust mod (nothing very evident) and it's pushing approx. 192hp which is plenty to create some really spirited driving. An MC40 is a one-year, special edition so you might want to think about keeping it relatively stock to preserve it's collector/historical value. There's an MC40 page on this forum (as well as a ton of Gen 1/R53 owners) that can provide you with help on just about anything. There's also an MC40 registration site online so you can update ownership. Good luck!

Welcome and Congrats. I remember doing dealer preps on them when I worked at the dealer and they were always pretty neat. Then about 2 years ago we got to do a restoration on one that had 150k miles.

Hi Brenden,
It happens all the time. You buy a Mini, then you need to buy another! Don't feel too bad that she wants it!
We need some pics !

It is a nice looking MC-40! They all usually need work done on them, as that is why they let them go!
Take your build to the gen 1 area and ask any questions you have!
Again, welcome to the NAM family!
