Glad to be here, just sold my long time daily driver, 1971 VW Westfalia and purchased a 2008 Clubman S with 33,000 miles on it.
Talk about night and day. Got in that car and had a grin on my face for an hour. Use to trekking up hills at 35 while people gave me the finger, lol😂😂😂
so many fricking ***** and gadgets, thing is like a space shuttle😂😂😂
Just picked up the Haynes manual, not sure on mods yet, just digging into it.
Thanks

1971 Westy One of my favorite panhandler sign, gave him some money for creativity😂😂
Welcome to the forum and MINI ownership. I was going to warn you that you need to be careful with your speed in the new MINI. You probably didn't have to consider how fast you were going in the VW. But based on the car behind you in the third picture, it looks like you found out the hard way. I hope they let you off easy after you explained your upgrade.
You could not have more difference the the two! LOL
These little rockets will change your world and it will get smaller, as you can get there faster. These cars do twisties and make long trips a pleasure!
The sign cracked me up!
Thanks all, been reading the big difference, premium gas, full synthetic, change every 5000 miles. Can’t wait to start doing simple mods. Don’t plan on taking to track but will do little things like air intake, rear sway bar, maybe inter cooler upgrade, oil catch can etc.
Will start thread on gen 2 forum when I start. Damn parts are big $$$. Will take me a little while.
Great site glad to be here. Learning a lot already.
