We have a 2012 Countryman S All4.

I was told that the pump that cools the turbo is failing. I thought they were oil cooled ... shows how far off my knowledge is!

I am trying to find the part on rock auto. Does anyone know exactly how is the turbo is cooled and help me identify the pump I will need?

Its a water pump. Not oil. There is oil, but just to lubricate

Aux pump

Quote: You are welcome.

Its a little tight in there. Of course do it when the engine / turbo has been cooled. It connects down to the aux water pump which is in a tight place.

Make sure to replace the gasket ring x 2 and the hallow bolt. Good insurance for a good seal.

And

Hallow bolt. #9 in the very top diagram

You can always hear it running when you park the car and turn it off. If you have been running hard it takes a bit to get the turbo to a low enough temp to shut it down.

All parts ordered from ECS Tuning.

Thanks.

For my F150, I have a workshop manual - no such thing for the countryman... this ought to get interesting.

Wow, thank you! I had to pay quite a bit for my Ford manual.

Those pumps were recalled once upon a time and might still be covered under a lifetime recall warranty.

Thanks for that. I just found the recall information and will contact the dealer today. I think they were pumps up to the 2011 engines, but will ask them.
