New to the Mini Game

Sooooooooooooooo, I have a 2009 Base Mini Cooper R56 Non S, I feel like I have to write that all the time since everyone has the S model or the JCW model lmao
i bought this car from a friend, it came with 92k miles on it, I have only put in about 500 miles, but I’ve already had to change the rear brake pads. I can’t really tell for sure but I’m sure the person I bought the car from didn’t take the best care of it, but she still runs like a champ and I’d like to keep her for years to come. I’ve sort of looked into what I should do at this stage, like as in change the oil, brakes and other stuff that I don’t know but I’d like to since like I said, I’m sure the previous owner neglected her.
Anyway, hi all! I also have a ‘17 Honda Accord and a ‘17 R6 but the mini is sort of what I’m focused on since I love it and I want to sort of clean it up and paint it which I will be doing soon!

Just call it a 'justa'.
These cars are NOT drive 'em and forget 'em appliances like those Hondas. Establish a regular service schedule and check on all the checkable items regularly like maybe each Saturday morning: Oil, coolant, brake fluid, tire pressure and etc.
Locate a reputable BMW/MINI independent service shop. Ask around of other MINI people in your area. DO NOT take it to a dealership.
Be proactive.

Yea, forgot to mention that. To quote previous sentiments: "Without pictures, it didn't happen."

Clear coat failed completely but I don’t even know how to take off all the flakey stuff ):
They call them puddle lights but they’re under the doors.
