2011 MCS from No. Virgina newbie

I recently bought my first MCS. It's a used 2011 Pepper White MCS with 40K miles and manual transmission. I've been on this forum for the last week or so trying to absorb as much knowledge as I can about the car. This site is awesome, keep up the great work.

Welcome! I just bought my first MCS last week but have poured through forums for months. There's a ton of information from people who are passionate about their MINIs.

welcome!
theres also a ton of people not so happy with their minis also
usually as a result of neglect/previous owner/abuse
For the first couple weeks keep an eye on oil consumption, it would probably be best to change oil asap if theres any doubt as to the last time it was changed. use mini filter and a good quality oil if diy. i still take mine to the dealer for oil change, quicklube places tend to break the turbo inlet pipe, strip the drain plug, or just not change the filter at all etc and never say a word of it.
I would also invest in an app to monitor engine temp/boost/read codes etc.
Carly seems to offer the most info, and is the most $$$
dash command and torque offer many of the same info/custom dash skins and is adequate most of *us*

Hi and welcome to nam, XXF123.
These cars are just so much fun to drive. It is the experience, not so much the destination!

Welcome, Welcome!

Some great roads to explore with your MINIs in both Northern Virginia (the Shenandoah Valley is great) and on the out skirts of Atlanta. (I really like the Pine Mountain area).

Motor on!

Oh man, you said it. My wife and I stayed in Massanutten once and stumbled onto the Blue Ridge Parkway out in that area. My dad had been out there a few times in his A/C Cobra and I'm sure at one point in the MCS- he said it was a motoring must do, and he was right. I recommend it too.

Have fun!
