2nd Time Mini Owner, new to me 2012 MCS Sport - BR Green

Finally got back into a mini! I bought a 2002 back in 2002/3 when the Chili Pepper Red ones had just come out. I loved that car. Was so much fun to drive. After I got rid of it I said I would own another one, one day. Well today is that day. I picked up a new one (to me) this weekend and am having such a blast.

Hi Digital! Hope you are keeping your MCS high and dry in all the wet weather! Should you decide to make some upgrades, here's a handy guide. In the meantime, how many miles on your '12? Plus, BR Green is one of our favorites, especially among those of us who own(ed) Classic Minis as well as the new MINIs.

I'll need to find the pictures of my old chili red. I was a member here but could not for the life of me remember my old username.

Here are two dealer pictures of my new2me mini.

Photos taken by the car dealer I bought it from.

Very nice! Looks to be in great condition. Do you plan to tint the windows? I think that would add nicely to the BRG and black theme.

Yes, its on my list of things to do within the next few weeks.

Last night I pulled off the front bonnet stripes (not a fan) and pulled the headlight rings and am in the process of blacking them out. I also pulled the chrome part of the scuttles, temporarily painting them black but plan on replacing them with some inserts.

Ordered some blackout tape for the chrome ring around the body.

But yes, plan is to black her out! Will post pics as I make progress.

Very nice. I think that will all come together well. Might also consider a stubby antenna to complete the look too. Good luck with it all and if you ever need anything don't hesitate to give me a shout!

You are doing exactly what I plan to do in about 5 weeks when I receive my car. It is in production currently (paint shop today), with an early June delivery date. Where did you buy the matte black headlight and tail light replacements? I have found a few gloss black, but not the matte finish.

I very carefully removed them and painted them with plastidip. It's near identical in color to the fender/side flares. I bought some glossifier from plastidip as well. But after seeing how well they matched I decided to leave them the more flat finish.

I ordered both matte and gloss belt line blackout tape. Once they come in I will put on the gloss first to see how it ties together. If the gloss doesn't look quite right I'll put on the matte.

The matte finish really complements the BRG. Nice job!

Did some more blacking out this weekend. I ordered beltline blackout tape from Out Motoring. It is a great product, but man.....not forgiving. Both my wife and I struggled to get it to not stretch, wrinkle, or have bubbles in it. I 10000% do not blame the product, but the people putting it on. I decided to tape off everything and plastidip it match the other parts. All and all I am SUPER happy with how it turned out. Going to order black out door handle covers.

Also pulled out the backside interior and put down sound dampening. Its like dynamat but a cheaper alternative. Put it all down and then aluminum tape all my seams. Wife spent hours heat gun and rolling tools to get it down and super formed to the body.
I did not cover the rear vent for the AC re-circulation. I still have to do under the rear seats. I put the bottom back in until next weekend when I can get back at it.

So here are some pictures.
